kit_kats_mom replied: Last picture of coconut. She's really skittish with the camera so I haven't gotten a decent shot of her face yet. She's a sweetie with Katherine though. As long as K can keep still, Coconut will sit on her, let herself be covered with a blanket and fall right asleep. Katherine is sooooo happy.

kit_kats_mom replied: we didn't know either until today. We went to the pet store to get a replacement fish and the shelter was there with adoptable kittens. Katherine wanted to pet them all and the sheer glee in her eyes led Woody (obviously in a very weak moment ) to say "we could get a cat instead of a dog you know. I'd be happier with that". So she spent about an hour choosing the cat that was most tolerant of her cuddling while I loaded up on cat stuff.

Katherine is just over the moon. She and coconut are sleeping together now.

Oh, and Amy, she LOVES those PJ's. A thank you card will be in the mail soon. That's the problem with big parties, LOTS of thank you cards. We worked on them all day and still only got about 7 done. She's such a perfectionist.

kit_kats_mom replied: One more thing about my eldest DD, Miss K. She's so responsible! The shelter gives you a video about making your house ready for a cat, how to feed and care for it etc. She watched it like a hawk then got up and did everything it said. Closed all of the toilet lids, made sure the dishwasher, washing machine and drier doors were all closed, brushed the cat etc. Before bed she scooped out the litter box and set out fresh food and water. We will see how long it lasts but she says "it's her sponsibility to keep coconut happy and healthy". Woody said that if she keeps that up she may actually get a dog.

redchief replied: I walked in tonight after work and the rabbit nearly attacked me. I looked into his bowl and saw it empty. So was his feed bag so I had to scrounge around for food for the poor thing. I'm glad your youngster is more responsible than my adult children.
