Weight Gain - Help
Littlejojames wrote: Does anyone know what type of weight loss would be ok while pregnant???
I have piled on loads of weight right at the start of the pregnancy and i dont want to end up massive by the end of the pregnancy.
I have been eating a lot healthier 5 fruit and veg a day and i have gone right of things like chocolate and so on.
HELP!!!!
MomToMany replied: I'm sorry to say that the weight is there to stay until you deliver. Weight loss during pregnancy is NOT recommended. It's great that you are eating healthy now. Keep that up, and try to do some light exercising, especially walking or swimming. Those are great for pregnant women (and their babies!). Staying fit will help you with labor, and make the weight come off much easier postpartum.
HTH!
coasterqueen replied: I agree that it's not safe to lose weight during pg. Hey, you're not alone. I was 129.5 July 1st...I'm now 147.5 and the scale just keeps going up! I never gained this much this fast with Kylie .
Littlejojames replied: Think im just worrying that im putting to much on too fast.
Got a smootie maker last night when shopping, think that its one of the best buys we got so far, had a strawberrie, kiwi and apple one last night UUUMMMMMM.
kimberley replied: unless your dr is concerned, i would avoid the scale during pg. my last month or so, i gained quite a bit of weight with my first. it scared me too because at six months pg, i had only gained about 5-10lbs and no one knew i was pg. in the last trimester, i must have gained almost 30lbs i gave birth to a healthy 8.5lb baby so try not to worry about weight. i agree with what everyone else has said. if you stay active (like walking or swimming) during pg and eat healthy, those pounds will come right off afterwards. immediately after birth, i lost 25lbs it was the last 10lbs that was the hardest.
mmm that smoothie sounds yummy!
mama3x replied: NONE NONE NONE!
I felt the same way because I started out this pg WAY heavier than I should be (25 lbs too heavy). Lost the 20 lbs I gained last year when pg with DD but was still overweight.
My OB didn't say anything about my weight except you can't really follow the chart that classifies fit, overweight, obese. Weight is an individual thing. Of course the 9 pounds I lost at the start of this one was looked at as kind of positive...?????
At any rate, I think you'll be fine if you stay active somehow and eat healthy. Forty pounds gained eating healthy isn't the same as the 40 gained when eating junks constantly.
Take care!
paradisemommy replied: i agree with everyone else..when i was pg with ds, my eating habits went from really good to mediocre..i packed on 60 lbs with him but just like kimberley said, i lost 25 lbs right off the bat (taven was 8 lbs., 6 oz.) then breastfeeding really helped the weight come off. within about 6 months i would say, i was down to within 10 lbs. of my prepg weight so don't worry!!!
MommyToAshley replied: I completely agree with the others. Don't worry about your weight, just worry about making healthy food choices for your baby bean. Your baby needs lots of nutrients, so when you are hungry, eat. Just make it a healthy snack, and it sounds like you are doing that! Way to go!
momof2girls replied: Everyone has given same advice as I would Dont look at the scale eat healthy, walk a lil bit and after the baby is here you can work on it then!!!
mitchzgirl replied: I've gained 28 pounds in 20 weeks, my doc says i've got about 25 more to go since I was so skinny to start with. My belly looks huge to me, but everyone says they think it looks the right size, just maybe a teensy bit big. I haven't gained it anywhere but my belly and my boobs, but it's still a lot. My OB says he hopes I keep a few pounds of it because I looked too skinny in the beginning, lol.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I with everone dont worry about how much as long as your keeping it healthy and getting some walking or such in you will be fine. Most will come off quickly, but the last 10 is usually the hardest...
Littlejojames replied: My weight gain seems to have stopped for now even though im getting the beginnings of my bump. My arms are even getting toned (1st time in my life ) My skin is amazing not a single blemish in sight and my hair is thick and shiney. I'm really starting to enjoy it now the morning sickness and the spotting is over.
so looking forward to craig being able to feel the first full kick so he can feel more of what i can at the minute
