Boys r us wrote: got back from a surprise road trip to NYC!
Rick took Allie and I to NYC. We were there Sunday through today. I didn't know I was going until we were in the car on our way. he just told me to pack warm for a week. We had a good time.
We did some other things besides just the city. One night we went to Hoboken, NJ to eat, that's where my skyline pics below were taken from. Another night we went on a bit of a road trip to a place called Point Pleasure, it's a beach with a boardwalk and lots of awesome restaurants. Lisa nd Ed, I thought about you, but couldn't remember the name of the city you lived in..just that it's NJ and on the shore somewhere?!?!
Allie loves to say Hoboken. We were on the subway the day after we went and she was telling anyone who would listen, "I ate a pickle in Hoboken" LOL One lady replied to her, "that's a long ways to have to go for a pickle!"
We drove... I think he was trying to reminisce since we used to take lots of road trips. It was nice..we had 8 hours in the car together to talk and just be together! Allie was a DOLL in the car except she wouldn't keep her straps over her arms in her car seat! I'm going to have to figure out a way to rig it so she can't take her arms out.
Anyhow here are a few of our pics:

Allie and the Naked Cowboy...Clearly she has no concept of her surroundings! I'm not sure if I can post this here or not..ehh..but I mean he IS like an icon of NYC..I even saw him on the people's court one time when they were outside talking to the crowd about the verdict!! LOL But feel free to remove it if it needs to be girls! (and he's not really naked..he does have on underwear)

Were in Avalon Nichole we were about 3 hours south of where you were at in NJ.
One of these days I hope Rick takes you to Atlantic City and you better let me know.

Ashley didn't like it at all... she held her nose the entire time and said it stinks there (sorry, no offense to the NY'ers.) She also didn't like the fact that there were no other kids around. She did like the Red Bus tour and the boat ride over to the Statue of Liberty though.
Did you go to any shows? Or go up in the Statue of Liberty? Rod and I want to take a weekend trip back there without Ashley soon.

Good luck with the move and make sure to take pictures of your house, I love house pictures. They will give me ideas of what I want someday!
Boys r us replied: We didn't go to any shows..weren't brave enough to go with allie.
The boys stayed with my parents b/c they had school. They've both been and like it okay..but not top of their list of fave places..isn't really not kid friendly!

Danalana replied: Fun trip! I love NYC...I guess I've been about 4 times. I remember my first trip...I had never heard of the naked cowboy, so imagine my face when we walked out of a restaurant and there he was....just his guitar and his underwear I love it there, though! Glad you had fun
