Finally went to bed around midnight but was up and down all night because the winds/rain were picking up & waking K up. Got up at 6 and watched it get progresivally worse unitil the eye hit us at around 2pm. We had quite a few gusts of up to 70, sustained winds of 40 for a short time, and a lot of rain. Stupid eye went right over our house but at least it had to go over the entire state before it got to us so it was calmer than those poor souls on the East coast. Now it's still sprinkling and we are getting a few maybe 20-30 mph gusts but nothing too bad.

Our house seems to have made it through the storm well although there were a few gusts there that rattled the roof of our screened in porch. I think the fact that the wind was coming from the front of our house may have saved that porch. We actually still have power/phone/cable/sattelite TV etc. ROCK ON underground utilities!!! The lights flickerd a couple of times but that was it. My DH's boss has been using his generator since 9am and I hear that many many more people are out of power in the tampa bay area.

I don't see much damage in our area so far but I still haven't left the house yet either.

Here's to hoping that Amy and everyone else are OK. I'll try her cell tomorrow to get an update if we don't hear from her before then.

LOTS of strong howling scary winds and rain, but no real damage. One of the things that sits on the roof and spins around (turbine?? who knows) blew off and rain was pouring into the attic. There is a huge water spot on our ceiling now, but no real damage I hope. We kept our power all day until the darn thing was almost over, then lost it at 4pm. Had to sleep at MIL's last night, but it wasn't so bad. DH said that the power was back on this morning, thank God. Could have been much worse

I watched this one come in as well. Then called my Mom and Dad the next day. They are all right as well. Gee it's a good thing that I didn't take a trip home this year.
