We lost Navi

sunshine girls wrote: I don't really know what to say, but I wanted to say something. She was born on September 11th, she weighed 7lb's 1oz. It was an easy delivery and I was in labor for only 2 hours. She was born at 2:51pm and she passed away at 7 that night.
I just wanted to say something, to let you all know she was here. I tried to post yesterday but it was to hard. I will try to post a picture of her soon so you can all see how beautiful she was.

I am sitting here trying to think of the perfect thing to say. Even though I have been through something very similar, I still don't know what to say. I could say that you will feel better in time, and you will, but right now that doesn't matter. I could say she is in God's hands now, and while that is comforting, I know how much you miss and want your baby with you. I am sitting here crying because my heart just breaks to know the kind of pain you are going through. We're here to talk, and most importantly to listen when you need us. She had meconium aspiration. I havn't felt up to reading about it in detail yet, but it is when the baby breaths in amniotic fluid that has the first stools in it. The doctor at the hospital said that it can cause respitory problems straight away or a few hours after. Navi had breathing problems and she was put on a breathing machine, she passed away shortly afterwards.
This is my favourite photo of Navi and my nephew Jake. Navi had already passed away but I told dh's sister not to tell Jake and say the baby was sleeping. We'd been saying goodbye and it was so painful, her death hadn't fully set in but it was just so undescribable. Jake on the other hand was blissfully unaware and he could still marvel in the joy of Navi's birth, without the pain of her death weighing down on him like it did to us. This photo makes me happy, because Navi looks so peacful and Jake is so happy. In any other situation I would have been upset about the weird tones, but I like them..


Thank you all for your replies, they mean alot to me and dh. I didnt expect this kind of response, even though I've only been a member for a short time you all open your hearts to me and my husband when we need it..thank you all so much

sunshine girls replied: I'd also like to thank you all for giving me the courage to talk about this all. Reading your replies has given me what I needed to speak about it, I havn't been able to talk about it to my closest friends and family. dh and I havn't yet had a meaningfull discussion. I think this is because we are both grieving in our own way and we havnt been using words to support each other, we just hold hands at night. Its kind of inexplainable, I think when we're both ready we'll talk about it.
Talking about something so painful to a friend or a family member is more difficult than I would've imagined. But I never would've imagined I'd find so much comfort in everyone here, I don't know what most of you look like and I've never met any of you, but your the easiest people to talk to. I don't really know how to say what I'm wanting to, I hope it makes sense.
You've all been so kind, and I don;t know why I'm finding it so easy to say what Im feeling here.
If you were all here now I'd give you all a great big hug
Thank you all for being so kind and so caring, it's truly what I needed. It's a great source of comfort to know I can come here and say what I can't say to my family at the moment..

I have been through a very simular experiance and can tell you I know how hard it can be to talk to someone that is close to you, I wish I had a place like this to come to when DH and I lost our first DS. Talk here as much as you need until you are ready to talk to those who are close.

Navi is absolutely beautiful, the pictures are priceless, and I am certain they will become invaluable to you as you make your journey through the grieving process. I am sure all sorts of feelings will arise at different times, and just remember that no feelings are wrong, no amount of time is too long or too short to recover some feelings of normalcy in your life and in your mind. You may never get over her loss, but hopefully in time it will hurt a little less than it did the day before.
I pray for strength for you and your family. And may your love of Navi always warm your heart, even as it must feel like it's breaking it right now.

sunshine girls replied: You mean Jake? He didn't really understand but he knows Navi's not here. Elle and Gwen went to her funeral, and they know that she's gone to Heaven. Elle doesn't really talk about it much, Gwen came to the conclusion about 2 weeks ago that Navi liked Heaven better than here because she could have her own house. Although I did find Elle talking to Navi, I told her that she can talk to her and Navi will listen, but she doesn't talk to me about her. Gwens the vocal one, she'll say whatever is on her mind about it, Elle's the opposite.
They handled well though, Elle understood more. But they're both young and I'm glad they are, they're just so innocent.
