We are home and - prayer request..m/c mentioned...

One of my best friends found out lastweek that she was pregnant,very early, well she started spotting Monday night and went to the doctor and her cervix is open and counts have dropped so he scheduled a D&C today and says if there is no tissue in the D&C he wants to remove one of her tubes!!! He would be afraid it is tubal....I have always been told that tubals have HIGH HCG levels and at this stage I don't see if counts are dropping why you would go so far (I thought D&C was abit overboard) Plus she has been clotting so good chance is there won't be any tissue....Anyway sorry Please pray for her and her health and that she doesn't need/get anymore interference from this doctor.

If anyone has any info about this I would appricate it!

I am worried about what will happen next-she was only about 3 weeks along and I am confused as to why he would be willing to take a tube if 1) the baby is too small to see and so he will just be guessing and 2) the counts were dropping so why all this surgery.... She has been through the ringer today and now it looks like for nothing as there was no tissue.... The Dr did not even check her counts again this morning before he did the D&C....the highest they ever were was a 149-a baby is not even visible on a sono until around 3,000! I hope she will seek another opinion before she goes through with any more surgery!

My2Beauties replied: I agree with everyone else, a tubal to me seems a bit odd in this situation, I started out spotting and then ended up having clots, all they did was a vaginal u/s on me and that indicated I had passed everything. My levels continually dropped over a period of a few weeks until they hit 0 and they followed my levels. My doc said as long as my levels dropped that it wasn't a tubal pregnancy.

That is the same thing my OB has ever done...if the levels stall or no bleeding then he says we would have to do a D&C but this doctor did one right away and is now talking about a tubal!?! I am so confused!

Boys r us replied: I also don't understand WHY they would take her tube! If they think it's tubal and she hast had the tube rupture, then they can give her meds to dissolve the pregnancy so that she DOESN'T lose her tube!!!!

I'm very sorry for her loss!! She's lucky to have a wonderful friend like you!!!
