Want to play.... - What's gas going for today?

boyohboyohboy wrote: This morning I dropped the boy off for preschool and gas was $3.23/gallon
Then three hours later it's $3.30!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Yesterday I filled up for $2.99 (got 10 cents off with my kroger card). Today it's $3.19

3xsthefun replied: I got gas yesterday it was $3.25 today it is $3.45 ohmy.gif

msoulz replied: I have seen it for $3.49 today. mad.gif That was this morning, and I need gas, so I may report back later ... but the station I plan to buy from is usually a bit less than the one I saw this morning .... I am glad I traded in the gas guzzler for my Fusion these days.

coasterqueen replied: Got gas Wednesday morning at $3.14 and on my home from work that day it was $3.39.

PrairieMom replied: tuesday it was $3.28. exactly what i paid for a gallon of milk

luvbug00 replied: 3.25 here

msoulz replied: Ok, the $3.49 is up to $3.53 and the other station was at $3.47.

I remember when I used to say "I am glad my car doesn't run on milk." Not so much anymore. Milk here is usually about $2.29/gal.

mom21kid2dogs replied: Gas is $3.39 here. And luckily, because groceries are also through the roof, I get .50 off with my Kroger card!

mom21kid2dogs replied:
I paid 3.19 for a bag of salad. I almost passed out in the store.

cameragirl21 replied: Good God, you people really put me to shame--I pay anywhere from 3.79-4.99 for a bag of salad and gas here is 3.39.
And I don't buy much milk anymore but when I did, IIRC, I bought the raw kind for about 4.99 per half gallon.
Yikes, it seems I spend wayyyy too much on things...where do you guys shop where you get stuff for less??

PrairieMom replied:
I had to quit buying organic because the food prices are way to high around here. I just shop at the local grocery store.

I am trying to organize my friends into doing a sort of small time CSA or produce swap this summer to hopefully cut down on our grocery bills.

Evverything just keeps getting more and more expensive, I am starting to get worried about our budget. It cost me $75 to fill up my van the other day. I can't wait till this summer so I can get the bike out. Even then I will still have to rely on driving way more than I would like because my town is really not friendly for biking and walking. everything is really spread out.

cameragirl21 replied: As madness continues to unfold in the middle east, prices will go up, first gas and then by extension, food, because trucks that deliver food use a lot of gas. It's really too bad we as Americans didn't try harder to find alternative energy sources but with what is happening, we may be forced into it in a great big hurry.
I buy a lot of produce at the market every weekend, mainly tomatoes because I can't live without those, colored peppers, red onions, and pummelos. But salad I still buy in bags.
Thank God I'm a vegetarian, can't even begin to imagine how the price of meat has and/or will go up.
We have to have a revolution of our own--where we insist on clean, reliable energy that doesn't require us to make nice with people who kill their own daughters for getting raped. Our previous president was an oil man who chose to buddy up to the saudi king; our current president bowed to the saudi king...hopefully our next president will flip the saudi king the bird and use clean technology instead, which we already have available btw, but too many oil men in America would lose their shirts if we switched to it.
I plan to grow my own watercress, in my high rise apartment and all, because I'm taken a tremendous liking to it lately. I also think I'd like to walk and bike more because I expect gas prices to get as high as 5 dollars per gallon in the not too distant future.
Oh, and if the revolution moves into saudi arabia, we may find ourselves lucky to get any gas at all, which is another reason I'm a huge proponent of alternative energy because the saudis are not the type of people I'd like to depend on and it kind of sucks to have to hope that dictators like that stay in power so that I can fill my car up.
Just my little rant for the day. biggrin.gif

bluebear replied: Paid $3.53 a few days ago, then passed a gas station about 1 hour later seeing $3.30 SO mad. growl.gif

luvbug00 replied: Meat hasn't been bad. But chicken has gone up.
We shop at trader joes and whole foods. I just joined a fruit and veggie from farmers share thing. 200 bucks for 5 months. I go to farmers market in the summer.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Gas is 3.39 here. It was 3.19 last week, and 3.25 a couple days ago. I'm not liking the quick jumps!

youngmomofone replied:
a-freakin-men.

Paid 3.23 today. 20 bucks gave me a quarter tank rolleyes.gif .

Sad thing is, we just paid off our suv a week ago, and I already want to trade it in for a smaller vehicle sad.gif . When it was 3.09 a gallon a couple days ago, it cost me 51 bucks to fill up WITH a quarter tank left. We are going out of town tomorrow to see dh's family, and I'm going to cry when we stop to fill up on our way home. sad.gif

amymom replied: New York State prices are off the map. I paid 3.63 per gallon yesterday and passed stations that were upwards of 3.85 or so. NYS has all those state taxes that jump the price.

mummy2girls replied: ok im not sure how it coverst but here in canada( well Edmonton) it is just over 1.00 a litre....

cameragirl21 replied:
yikes...it's about 3.8 liters to a gallon....

coasterqueen replied:
I'd love to pay $3.28 for a gallon of milk. happy.gif I pay $5.69 for a gallon. wacko.gif But it's worth it. thumb.gif

coasterqueen replied:
Jennifer, you and I buy organic so the prices are going to be a lot higher. I think that most who pay 1/2 for milk must be buying regular milk. We spend $350-400 every two weeks for groceries at the store. So that's $700-800 a month in groceries/household stuff . Then we spend $50-75 a month for our meat from our farmer, then we spend $100-$175 a month for co-op organic foods. So we spend at least $850 a month but more upwards to $1,050. It makes me sick when I think about how much we spend, BUT at the same time it is T.H.E. most important thing to me these daysand with Megan's immune system/health, we will give up cell phones, anything else to keep her on a healthier diet.

It does make me want to vomit on how much I spend though. wacko.gif Then we spend at least $400 a month in gas, if not more..........puke.gif

moped replied: 1.07 a litre here, so not sur eon the conversion.........looks like about a conversion of 3.79/gallon

Mommy2Isabella replied: $3.31 a gallon here, filled up 2 days ago!

Sal took my car to put gas and a car wash with the boys while I grocery shopped, I spent less at the grocery than he did on gas sad.gif

lesliesmom replied: 3.35 here. Just got a new (used) vehicle from a friend and it cost me 62.50, and I was only at a quarter tank!

ETA: That was on Monday 2/28...
