Waited to tell you this, but now I can share....

The dealership he works at now (as GSM) is being sold. We've known this for awhile, but we weren't sure what was going to happen with his job. We only hoped he would get transferred to the other dealership. (they have 2 stores 20 miles apart) There was one GM over both stores. He (GM) was let go yesterday and they announced Scotty would take his place at the same time they announced the one store was being sold. Scotty will be taking in his own people. Which sucks for some, but is only fair to Scotty to work with those he trusts and knows will get the job done.

His commute now is one hour each way (120 miles/day). He will be closer to home at the new dealership and that is wonderful news. In time he will be able to delegate and get more time off and even some Saturdays. We've looked forward to this for years. And like I said, nobody deserves it more than him. He is such a hard worker.

LOL I don't even have the heart to edit it though b/c after all of the depressing thigs we've talked about today, laughter at my expense will do us all good!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: That's awesome news!! Congratulations! The shorter drive will be nice - and just in time too with gas prices going up so high. My Scott has about a 50 minute drive each way to work (I don't know exactly how many miles but he doesn't go through any traffic and there's just one small town he goes through) and he just took a pay cut to go to days.

I'm so happy for you guys!!

Fortunately they pay for his gas. Scotty doesn't have to drive in traffic, either. Thank goodness. He did that for a couple of years, but now he is driving away from traffic. I'm sorry Scott took a pay cut. That really stinks, but it is worth it to have them at home at night.
