Boys r us wrote: Schools in our area are supposed to vote today to decide whether to change our school weeks to 4 days a week instead of 5 due to the gas crisis!
You know..there HAS to be another way...for instance taking scratching from the budget the cheerleader's bath towels that have their names embroidered on them or the superintendent's car and gas that the county pays for...you know?!? something!
They're proposing our kid's going to school from 7:45- 4:30 day...what and THEN come home and do their homework and sports and have no time to just be a kid?
luvbug00 replied: OMG!! that's horrible!! you know that somone needs to do somthig when our childrens education are the price for the gas prices!!
kit_kats_mom replied: That does sound like a stupid idea. I mean, what are those parents who work outside of the home supposed to do? Leave their second graders home alone all day while they are at work? Arrange for child care and pay for it?
There are much better ways to cut back on gas and spending. Have they considered encouraging carpooling to and from school? Are they just trying to cut down on busses?
MM'sMama replied: Ok that is jsut so freaking crazy wth???
kimberley replied: that is nuts! is there a parent association? do other parents plan to fight it? i hope it all works out.
TANNER'S MOM replied: That is totally crazy.. and just WRONG..
I would go to that meeting and jump up and down!

ions_momma replied: OMG! That is a terrible idea!! I hope it doesnt happen!! It is just crazy!!
larchmontdi replied: I don't know where you live, but get everyone you know to vote NO!!!!!!!!!! Even the elderly and people with no kids.
Good luck.
3xsthefun replied: I heard they are trying do that here also. I think it is crazy.
I also heard that they might cut out all the sports here. I'm not sure what is true or not. But that is what I've been hearing anyways.
CantWait replied: omgosh, what a bunch of idiots, you're right, I don't think they know what they're doing.
amynicole21 replied: They have already cut out bussing to after school activities in our county (like to away football games, etc.) and will be cutting out bussing ALLTOGETHER next week! Parents are just left to fend for themselves to get their kids to and from school. Insane!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: how sad that they have to cut things like that, I know one school distric hear that is suffing bad they have alrady cut bussing, activities (they have them you just have to pay to play), anything they could and are still looking into more cuts, possibly teachers
My2Beauties replied: OMG that is insane I would be LIVID. I hope they don't pass it.
