WE'RE BACK! & where we've been.

MommyToAshley replied: We had planned to go to Philly and see the Liberty Bell and visit Sesame Street as well but FIL (my MIL nad FIL went with us) had twisted his ankle pretty bad so we came home early. We'll probably fly back to NY and Philly though for another vacation.

I'll post some more pics later, I just wanted to say hello and let you all know we were back! I've missed you all and have a lot to get caught up on.

I'm so glad you enjoyed your trip and were able to get away for a little R&R!!

Maddie would be on top of the world if she could pet a beluga whale! I can't wait to show her the pic of Ashley.

MommyToAshley replied: We stayed at a hotel right in Clifton Hill, beside the huge ferris wheel. We could see and hear the falls from our hotel balcony (although the view wasn't perfect as there were some trees in the way). Our hotel was soooo close to the falls, it took just a few minutes to walk to the falls. I wanted to stay at the Broc hotel but they didn't have any rooms available as we went at the last minute.

We walked around both. We spent 5 days at Niagara Falls so we pretty much did everything there. DH and I went out one night and walked around the city and went to the Casino while MIL took Ashley swimming at the hotel and watched her that night.

We only spent 2 days in NY and didn't get to do everything. We did one of the double decker bus tours which was really interesting... there's a lot of history to NY. We saw the Empire State Building, and took the ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and walked around Times Square a little that night. But this is where FIL twisted his ankle and we had to leave early. We are going to fly back, probably in the Spring. I want to see a Broadway show, see the Museum of Natural History, do some shopping, and go to the top of the Rock.

I thought about how close we were to some of you in Canada, NY, PA, and NJ. Since we had the in-laws with us, we weren't able to stop and meet anyone. But, we'll plan to do that when we go back again.

Anthony275 replied: you're really close to me when you went to the city. go to top of the rock. i did it recently and the view was really good. don't get the guys to take the pictures of you, they get the glass barriers in every picture.

Really?... that's cute. What is it about NY that she likes or wants to see?

Ashley loves to go "downtown" where there are lots of big buildings, and was excited when we told her about the buildings she'd see in NY. But, I think she liked NY the least, it's really not a place that caters to kids. And, she held her nose the entire time, saying that it smelled -- LOL. (Sorry, no offense to any New Yorkers) She did like the ferry boat ride, but that was about it. I think she would have liked the Museum of Natural History though.

I'm afraid that for the most part, Philly doesn't smell much better than the Big Apple (no offense to residents of either city - big, congested, Northeast cities just have that heavy city smell that I always feel the need to wash off me upon my return home. I call it Eu De Garbage a' Sweat.

DansMom replied: Wonderful!!! We did Niagara Falls last year, but only for an overnight on our way from Maine to Michigan. We want to do it again as a destination, for a few days.
