Volunteer.... err, volunteered is more like it
MommyToAshley wrote: I just got back from the board meeting for the preschool and I am now the treasurer. How did that happen? I don't remember raising my hand. It's not like I NEED or Want something else to do with my time. I need to learn to say no...but somehow I always feel obligated. I don't mind helping out, but I would rather volunteer in the classroom where I could spend more time with Ashley.
TLCDad replied: Wait a minute here.... uhm, you have no problem saying 'no' to me!

Sorry Dee Dee, I have a hard time saying no also. But I'm sure you'll be the best Treasurer they've ever had!
Maddie&EthansMom replied:
Dee Dee you will be great!
Sorry you couldn't volunteer in the room, though. That's so much fun. I couldn't volunteer in the classroom when Maddie was in preschool, but I got to last year in Kinder. You'll get the opportunity. For now I'm sure they are so appreciative that you have 'volunteered' to be treasurer.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Rod-Maybe you should present things as 'Ideas from the Chairman of the Board'
DeeDee! I was told by a lady lastyear in Tay's dance that they were "so happy to see me walk through the door. They can tell when they have found someone who will do whatever is needed!" I think that was her semi-nice way of saying "so glad you are here sucker!" Good luck in your new role-my new moto is I will volunteer to delegate!
C&K*s Mommie replied: to the others, you will be a fantastic Treasurer!
LOL @ Rod!
redchief replied: Welcome to my world.

Halo42101 replied: I hope you enjoy being a treasurer, even though you did not volunteer. They must have just seen it in you.
Kaitlin'smom replied: and the way it should be just kidding
Sorry DeeDee I bet you will do great!
kimberley replied: thanks Rod, i am now cleaning coffee off my monitor and keyboard
Dee Dee, can you not just say you appreciate the position but you prefer to be more hands on with the kids? either way, you are doing a good thing volunteering. hope it all works out.
MommyToAshley replied: I do volunteer in the classroom sometimes too. I help with all the parties, and I go in now and then to help out. I would love to be the room mother, but I just can't commit to that kind of time because I never know when I will have a meeting for work. (Aimee, weren't you the room mother for Kinder?) I guess I meant that if I was going to spend MORE time volunteering then I would rather it be time spent in the classroom.

TheOaf66 replied: i understand, that happens to me too and then I get in trouble at home for taking on to much but I am just so darn reliable.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Argh...Sorry you got roped into doing something you don't want! I'm the same way with saying no. It's so hard.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh I know the feeling! I swear my Activities position with my mom's club is turning into a full-time job! Wish I got paid for it!!
Can you back out by finding someone to replace you? I'm sure Treasurer won't take up too much time unless the budget is in shambles I guess. I have a hard time saying no too. I'm sure you will like it once you get going!
