Very unhappy with a worker at jens daycare!
mummy2girls wrote: yes im on holidays until the 16th but because i have childcare subsidy you have to have a certain amount of hours per month. So today i decided to put jenna into daycare for a bit while i opened up a bank account for her, and other errands that needed to be done:) anyways I went to get her at around 5pm and i walked into the toddler room and i saw the worker that is "SUPPOSE" to be taking care of the kids, was on the floor in the corner sleeping! OMG!!! One mom was in there changing her childs bumb. And she wasnt to pleased because the kids bumbs are suppose to be changed and ready for hometime before the parents pick them up. And she wasnt to happy about the fact the worker was sleeping. Jenna came to me and started her happy to see you mom scream..LOL. which woke the worker up! I am so peed off right now because this daycare is/was the best one i put jenna in. This lady very rarely takes care of the toddlers, she is mostly with the preschooler aged ones. This is the lady that never spells jennas name on her crafts right. she spells her name JANA. The lady that is usally with the toddlers is my favourite worker. I walked up to the director and explained to her what i saw and told her that i dont appreciate her sleeping while my child is in her care. And that i dont want her to be taking care of my child if she isnt going to be awake. I was so mad but i controlled my anger and calmly talked to the director. So hopefully this will not happen again.
DixieDarlin replied: OMG! I can't blame you one bit! I would be LIVID! You did the right thing by talking to the director but I would take it one step farther and report it to the state or whoever you would contact in this sort of situation.
mummy2girls replied: Believe me i know all to well about who to report to. Jennas first daycare centre wasnt feeding her and neglecting her . And i have proof from my mom and my sister that they werent. Very long ugly story. But i did report the daycare and the owners were forced to either shut down the centre or get new management.
kimberley replied: omg! i would have flipped out!! you are stronger than i am! i am glad to hear you reported her. hopefully they will let her go. do you know if the other mom complained too?
Alice replied: Put it in writing. Just write a note to the director, reminding her of the conversation. That way, if there's another incident, you have more credibility when you lodge a formal complaint.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I'm so glad you said something to the director of the Daycare! That women doesn't sound like she really wants to do her job! I hope she never watches Jenna again!
mummy2girls replied: Im not sure but im sure she did!
momof2girls replied: That is crazy I would have went off on the sleeping caregiver, that is just crazy!!! How many kids was she watching? is this a inhome daycare of a center?
mummy2girls replied: Its a daycare centre. Not a dayhome. She had a total of 3 kids... jenna 21 months, a 18 month old, and a 2 year old.
Josie83 replied: That is a disgrace, no wonder you're so angry! That could have ended badly . . . stupid woman!! xx
aspenblue1 replied: That is horrible. I hope the director does something.
amynicole21 replied: Are you kidding me???? That is inexcusable. She should be fired immediately.
DansMom replied: I'm a manager for a living. If she were my employee I'd let her go, or at the very least require her to work under supervision only, because her actions opened the center to lawsuits and investigations---that's a serious offense. Surely her position can be filled by someone more competent.
My2Beauties replied: I would be extremely PO'd and I would have done more than just talked to the director, honey you can control your anger better than I can! I would have stormed into whoever's office and gave them a piece of my mind in a not so calm manner! That is inexcusable and that worker needs to be fired!!!
A&A'smommy replied: OMG!!!! How rude!!! I can't believe how irrisponsible she was with such young children!!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: Oh I would have been mad, I probably would have poured water on her while she was sleeping and then yelled at her, and done everthing possible to get her fired! That is inexcusable for a daycare worker where your job is to take care of young childeren.
MommyToAshley replied: OMG!!! I would have been furious. This person put your toddler, as well as the other toddlers, at risk!! I think I would have told the director that I wanted this person fired, and that if she is not fired, I would report the incident to a higher authority. There are certain jobs that are too dangerous for a person to fall asleep, and taking care of toddlers is one of them! Put it in writing, and if it were me, I would not send my child to that daycare unless the person was fired... and maybe not even then!
And, I am curious, just how do you fall asleep in a room with 3 toddlers? That just seems impossible to me!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I kinda wondered that also, Kaitlin would never let me fall asleep! (unless she was)
mummy2girls replied: I have no idea guys... i just can't get the picture out of my head she was all snuggled in under a light blanket they use for the toddlers at naptime. I feel very uncomfortable to bring her back there. I told the director today when i called there that i refuse to bring jenna back unless she gets someone new to go in the toddler room, not let the worker i caught back with the toddlers.
Why oh why is this happening? I had jenna in 2 daycares and now the 2 bith did something uncalled for!!!!!!!!
I think i may need to switch daycares AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Alice replied: I would also consider a letter to your local newspaper. Perhaps the Better Business Bureau???
lsjulee replied: OMG!!! This is outgrages!! Good that you have reported it to the director. I mean.... what the h****!! Sleeping on the job!! How irresponsible!!
If this center was reputed to be good and expensive, that worker will definately be damned and sacked. If not by the director, it will be by the parents!
