Very odd....I mean scary weird! - I don't know what I should do...
Boys r us wrote: Okay last night in the middle of the night, I either had a seizure or I had a VERY real dream that I did. This morning my body is very jumpy feeling. I'm very concerned about this, but what am I supposed to do? go to the doctor and tell them I either had a seizure or I dreamed that I did? LOL I do remember, it didn't last long and if I was dreaming, like I said, it was REALLY VERY REAL, b/c I was in the bed when it happened and after it was over, I thought about getting up but I didn't have enough energy to get up. I've never had a seizure before. So I don't really have anything to compare this to. Several things lead me to believe that it was real b/c I was in my own bed when it happened, I remember it waking me up(although I guess I could have been sleeping in my dream) and I don't know..my gut instinct is that it was real.
You know this is so not funny, but when I was 11 or so and my brothers and I were home in the summer, I would pretend like I was having seizures..just to watch them freak out..and then I'd start busting out laughing. One of my brothers was talking about this a couple of weeks ago, maybe that and LeaAnn's post yesterday about desiree's brother spawned me to dream this?!?!
gr33n3y3z replied: Well maybe it was a dream But since you get bad headaches it could have been real kwim? Maybe you should get checked out
mammag replied: You probably should just get checked out to be sure but I know how you feel about going. I probably would end up not going because I would feel stupid to say "well I don't know if it was a dream but........."
Better safe than sorry.
Kaitlin'smom replied: eeek how weird, did you ask your DH if he was awake or remember anything weird happening last night? me I dunno if I would go to my doctor, I dont care much for doc but I do like my new one so I might go and talk. If you have a good relationship with your doc at least talk to them and see what they say.
Boys r us replied: okay...I called my dr and made an appointment, the receptionist asked what I wanted to be seen for and I started laughing and said, well this is going to sound pretty weird, but....and then I told her. I go at 1pm
My2Beauties replied: That is really odd Nichole, I hope it isn't anything and that it was only a dream! But they are probably going to run lots of tests! You know, your husband probably would have felt you having a seizure, at least I would think, because a lot of people shake uncontrollably and I'm no expert, but a lot of times when someone has seizures they can't come to, like they sleep for hours on end once it's over! I would still get checked out though, you could have had a tremor too, which is like a mini seizure! That is so scary...keep us updated!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm glad you are going to get checked. They will probably do an EEG to make sure your brain waves are fine. I agree with LeaAnn. You would also more than likely have a migraine today. I worked for a neurologist for years. I hope everything is fine and it was just a dream.
Kaitlin'smom replied: glad your going in, i do hoep it was just a dream and you have no more
Mommy2BAK replied: yeah, you do need to get that cheked out! But John and I have a friend that was going into the marines but the day before he was to leave he had a seizer and now he can't go, and he can't drive for 6 months either, so keep that in mind as a possiblity!
kimberley replied: that is odd and scary! p&pt that everything is ok. keep us posted.
DVFlyer replied: Glad you're going to the doc. At least by going to the doc, they can hopefully tell you if it was real or not.
Maybe Redchief (isn't he a dr?) can shed some light on tests etc to expect.
Boys r us replied: I had a sub seizure he thinks. Which is like a mini seizure..that could eventually works it's way up to being a real full blown seizure. Basically he said that having a seizure can often feel like a dream, but if it had been a full blown seizure then I wouldn't have any recolection of the convulsing. Everything he asked me matched up to having one. So I truely believe I did, especially now after talking with him about it. He scheduled me for an EEG on the 22nd. I'm a little scared, he said if it comes back abnormal, I won't be able to drive for 1 year!!!!! God, I can't even imagine!
***edited to change normal to ABnormal..LOL
DVFlyer replied: Oh my. That's very scary. Did you mean if the EEG "doesn't" come back normal? I'm not trying to be a sentance natzi, just making sure I understand.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Wow it's a good thing you went to get it checked out! That's scary. I hope the EEG goes ok - it would suck big time to not be able to drive for a whole year! My dad started having fainting spells when he was a truck driver and he wasn't supposed to drive until he went for 6 months without having a spell without his medication... he had to quit his job of course but he still drove a car.
Kaitlin'smom replied: OMG I am glad you went but if its normal they why cant you drive? I could see if something shows but normal I dont understand.
Boys r us replied: LOL meant to say abnormal!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol I knew what you meant.
My2Beauties replied: Wow that is really scary, I hope that the results come back ok Nichole! The 22nd is a long time to wait for tests like that, but hang in there! Keep us updated hon when you find something out!
TANNER'S MOM replied: Oh Girl I am sure this will be OKAY it has to be..
Thoughts and prayers~~~~~
Mel
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I hope everything comes back okay, Nichole. I'm sure it will, but you will be in my prayers.
I noticed in my post I said EKG instead of EEG. Brain, not heart Aimee. LOL! Where is my mind these days.
gr33n3y3z replied: I told Hubby about it and everything your Doc said to you is what Hubby told me Well now you know and you can get meds to take care of that. Big Hugs to you Nichole
loveydad replied: Woops I didn't read that second part. Nichole that's scary! Keep us updated.
A&A'smommy replied: Oh god Nichole!!!! that is SO scary!!! ((((BIG HUGS)))) Please keep us updated..
Josie83 replied: I agree, you should get it checked out. Beter safe than sorry! xx
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG how scary for you! I hope everything will be okay!
