Valentines poll

Daddy of Schnoogly replied: I usually try to make a nice little dinner on Valentine's Day. That's probably what I'll try to do this year too, with some kind of nice chocolatey dessert.
I think I'm going to save the nice big romantic going out dinner for our anniversary in March. I want my MIL to come up and take care of Iain while we go out.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I had to vote No don't care because my DH won't be here for valentines day. We would have probably gone out to eat or something if he was here.
paradisemommy replied: i voted no only because our anniversary is on wednesday and we'll probably end up geeting his mom to watch taven and celebrate sometime between those 2 dates (anniv. & valentines)...i'm not a big valentines day person anyways..i think they jack the prices up for roses too much and can't stand getting them on that day because i know that they paid way too much...and they'll just die anyways..i'm such a party pooper huh?
Kirstenmumof3 replied: I voted I don't know because we have 3 children and have never been able to go out and celebrat Valentines day of February 14, we usually get together with another couple and go out a few days later. Maybe DH will surprise me and he will find a babysitter that night!
ediep replied: We usually go out to dinner or something like that. I got my DH some small gifts and my sister volunteered to babysit on Friday night.
booey2 replied: I voted don't know either, DH usually brings home a rose but hasn't done anything romantic in a while so we will have to see.
coasterqueen replied: I voted don't know either. We will never find someone to baby sit on Valentines day, so we won't even try. LOL. We are going to do something as a family and that is special in it's own ;-)
Dh and I were going to get each other gifts, but I begged him to promise me that he won't and I won't. We are trying to finish our basement and money is tight anyways and I hate spending money on little trinkets when we are trying to spare every penny we have on the basement. I would rather see our money go towards it. So he promised and he better keep it! LOL!
We will get Kylie something though. We did get her a Disney movie, The Lion King, which was supposed to be for V day but Dh let her watch it already So I was going to get her a puzzle, too, so I will do that and I think I will get her something for the bathtub.
Since EVERYONE will be going out to dinner that night I think we'll just plan a nice little dinner at home

My DH has the best intentions, really. I know he thinks of things he would like to do for me, but doesn't get around to it. He used to send me roses on special occasions and I'm not stupid...I know when we can or can't afford things like that so I told him to stop the roses. I hope this year he surprises me with something special. I learned early on that if I wanted to do something special for our anniversary or Valentine's day that I would have to plan it. It always turns out wonderful and I am never let down. DH really appreciates it, too.
My advice...Don't wait around for DH to do something special and miss out on special moments or risk being upset on the day of. If he does end up doing something special, it is just icing on the cake.
As for me, I haven't even thought about what we will do for V-day. Probably dinner and I'm sure we will take Maddie with us. After all, she is our Valentine, too.
jen replied: We are pretty close to having our little addition so this year we decided to go out (the three of us, LOL) and have a really nice expensive dinner while we both still work and can afford it!! LOL !! I usually put together a basket for Josh and include little candies and small "dollar store stuff", and a six pack of beer ha ha and some little things he doesn't buy for himself that he likes and a really mushy card!!! and although he doesnt' do the same kind of thing for me I have to remember that I tend to go over the top with Holidays!! ANY HOLIDAY! LOL! oh and especially BIRTHDAYS! It is going to be so much fun having Maddy in our life!!! I am going to teach her to appreciate the holidays ALL OF THEM!!!
MomToMany replied: I voted no, because I don't feel like doing anything. Plus, there's no one to watch the kids, anyway, so we couldn't even if we wanted to. We might just watch a good movie and snuggle on the couch, but that's about it. MIL has offered to sit a few times, but I don't know if I really want her to. She's kind of a "neat-freak", and my house would upset her, I imagine !
amynicole21 replied: I'm getting back from a tradeshow in Vegas on Valentines Day, so I don't know if I'll be up to it
A&A'smommy replied: lol i talked to dh last night we both bought "practical" gifts yesterday i got him a kitchen-aid mixer because he really wants it and he LOVES to cook (he also wants me to learn to cook with it! LOL) and he got me something that he said i had said i wanted to help around the house and something else that he will probably give me when it gets here because he wont be able to stand it LOL . Also we will probably just have a nice dinner at home which i dont mind as long as we get to spend some time together i also told him to plan something special because he is the guy so he said he would! im also going to go get him something else because the stupid confirmation email got sent to his email! so im going to walmart when i can to get a mushy card (lol jen) and i dont know what else...anyways im done babbeling!!!
chloe&tysmommy replied: I think we are planning to go out for supper to a fancy restaurant, we probably won't go on the 14th but maybe sometime before/after that--I just hate going ON the day b/c it's usually so packed in the restaurants you can't even move lol
I also hinted I would love flowers too....my dh has bought me flowers maybe twice in the six years that I have known him LOL so I said flowers would be a nice change
MommyToAshley replied: It's DH's brothers birthday and his wife is throwing a party for him on the 14th. (I thought that was odd) I would rather do something special with just the two (or three) of us, but I guess we can't not show up for his birthday party. We'll still have fun though.
CantWait replied: I didn't vote. It's not that I don't care, but we won't be doing anything. Anthony still won't take milk from a sippy cup or anything else for that matter, so leaving for more then an hour would be out of the question
