Valentine's Day

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: I asked Scotty if we would be exchanging gifts for Valentine's Day and he said "Don't get me anything." rolleyes.gif I told him he wasn't allowed to buy me anything then. He just said "Whatever." dry.gif

I didn't get him anything for Christmas OR our anniversary b/c we weren't going to be exchanging gifts...he ended up getting me something, though.

I really want to get him something for Valentine's day. It is the 10th anniversary of the day we met and he deserves to know how much I love and appreciate him. I want to get him a watch, but don't even know where to start. And I thought about getting him some cologne from the kids.

I'm so late in thinking about this. blush.gif Anyone else have any special ideas? We are celebrating V-Day tomorrow, but that doesn't mean I have to give him the gift tomorrow. wink.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I had a few ideas, but nothing concrete. happy.gif I hope someone has some good ideas and TLCDad doesn't read this. wink.gif

coasterqueen replied: Unless Scotty is extremely picky I say get him a watch. I got one for Ryan for Christmas and I had NO idea what kind he'd really like AND I only had $100 or less total to spend. IMPOSSIBLE, IMO, but I sucked up my pride and the fact that I couldn't get the kind of watch I wanted to get him or the kind he used to have and got him a really nice watch under $100. It just didn't have the NAME I'm used to happy.gif . I also got him a kind that was a bit different for him. He LOVED it. Especially since I picked it.

Sorry I have no other ideas, we aren't exchanging gifts.

MommyToAshley replied:
I agree, the watch is a great idea. You could get it engraved with something special. wub.gif

luvbug00 replied: when I worked in jewelry I fouond that the bulova collection has a veriaty of style your husband may like. the prices are good and if you have a tight budget they have the "caravelle" by bulova series. The watches last for a long time and are made wit great workmanship.

just a thought. i agree the watch sound like a good way to go.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I did not get Chris anything nor did I plan to. I feel wierd about it being his money he worked hard for, that I am turning around and buying a gift for him. I would think the watch idea is great. Esp if you have it engraved with a saying that is personal to you two.

A&A'smommy replied: I got dh a sandwhich maker (because he has been wanting one for a LONG time) , candy and I'm thinking about making him a cd wink.gif I think the watch is a great idea though

ediep replied: I got DH an armband for his ipod for when he is jogging, a yankee picture for the basement or his office, and I got a Tshit made at disneyshopping.com that has a pic of Nemo and his dad and it says #1 dad. I figured the shirt is from Jason

salmndr007 replied: hmm, good watches. I am a watch fanatic. Fossil makes some good ones, also if he is like me and doesn't like bulky watches, get him a swatch "skin". These watches are awesome and they won't break the bank. Here are a site with the watch. I think you can even order it from this site. Also, see if you can locate a dealer in your area. Hope this helps.

Swatch Skin

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I would definately go for a watch and I love the idea of having somehting engraved on it. Good Luck! I hope he is really surprised! thumb.gif

J-rod replied: a watch is a good way to go. my SO got me one for christmas...and its even more special cause she got it without any hints and its a personlized Red Sox watch....and she got me a Sox watch even though she's a Pirate Fan.... deep down she likes the Red Sox now too cause i love them. cool.gif

fashionmumofboys replied: I say go for the watch. It's a great idea, and the engraving sounds neat to. thumb.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: DH loves the Swiss Army watches...which unfortunately I went wrong on Xmas and got him a knock-off that he didn't like. He returned it and didn't buy anything with the $. BUT, DH has had several SA watches in the past and they have always held up really well. I don't know if Scotty is like Rich, but my DH would never wear any of the silver chain/link ones. So SA is mostly leather with nice silver faces. Conservative, but goes with everything.

Rich doesn't wear cologne, so I can't help you there! I think your choices are good though! Or maybe a new outdoors thing - like a golf club or workout gear. I got Rich golf lessons for his Bday and that was a hit!

AshleyRose replied: I am not very educated watch wise but my DH has about 50 colognes and keeps adding to the collection all the time. Recently he purchased Kenneth Cole Reaction which smells ridiculously awesome. It is a very man smell... it makes you just want to.. kisscheek.gif ... na more like.. smileykiss2.gif !!!

moped replied:
I was going to say Swatch, Fossil or Storm - I love all those brands...........

CantWait replied: Well Ron has a couple nice watches so I stuck with something boring but themed. I got him a pair of valentine pj pants, and a tshirt to go with, as well as a small box of chocolate, a stuffed frog (cause he's my frog prince), and a card.
