Thanks!
booey2 replied: Hi, you could try Walt Disney World, many of the resorts in Jamaica have family resorts. I guess it all depends on the type of vacation you want.
MilMunchMOM replied: That Disney cruise ship looks like it might be fun!!!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I think she is to young for that, I do want to take her there but not until she is like 6 or so.
Thanks tho
I am thinking simple, but nice maybe a beach
Boys r us replied: Where do you live?
We do a lot of traveling..so I could probably come up with something fun, but laid back for you guys if I know what area of the country you're from!
Boys r us replied: okay..just looked at your profile, Ohio. Uhmm..Have you ever been to Myrtle Beach, SC? we go there a lot(my parents have a beach house there..so it's vertually free for us), it's fabulous for families..there are a lot of things to do! There's the beach, they have big pavillion with lots of kiddie rides and just tons of attractions, water parks and so forth!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I went there as a kid and hated it, but that probaly cause we did not do anything, except hang out in the hotel and go to the beach. It was boring to me.
But something to consider......it might be more fun now. Thanks
kit_kats_mom replied: Maybe an old style family vacation? I am planning on packing up the car and hitting the old "roadside spots". For example, WeekieWachie springs is about 1.5 hours from us. We went there last year and took a jungle boat cruise and saw the mermaid show which has been going since the early 40's. Yes, it was kinda cheesey but at least I can say I've been there, done that, and the cruise was cool.
I love traveling by car and driving on the back roads. I hate the highways. Anyway, you could do some research and see what kinds of sites the areas around you have (you may be very suprised!) and then spend a few days driving, eating, visiting, staying in motels etc.
jen replied: HAAAAAAAAA! I saw the Mermaid Show on Good Morning America a while back!!! How cool!!!
I don't have any great ideas except I like the myrtle beach suggestion, you could probably get a great deal on a condo type place!
jcc64 replied: I don't know what kind of budget you're dealing with, but if $$$ is NOT an issue, I highly recommend Atlantis in the Bahamas. Went there for Xmas two years ago and it is a fabulous place to vacation with kids. Elaborate water rides, pools, and incredible aquariums integrated throughout the grounds of the resort. Not to mention gorgeous beaches, great kids camps for all ages, casinos, no stone unturned really. But it is very expensive. Vacation of a lifetime for my family, maybe when your daughter is old enough to appreciate this Caribbean Disneyland.
Kaitlin'smom replied: that sounds like fun.
I have not been to wikitewatche since I was a kid! I loved that! The murmaid show was so neat (well as a kid I thought so) espically when they drank a coke underwater!
DH was tlaking about getting one of thoes road map things that you have on a laptop that are satalite linked to help with navagaition, so a road trip might be fun. If you do happen to find things in the ohio that woudl be great! Thanks for the idea!
Kaitlin'smom replied: not looking to spend tons right now, we just want to get away. That place does sound great though, something to think about for the future! Thanks
Boys r us replied: Have you ever been to the inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD? That is fun and they have a lot to do there. We go there in the summer, it's right across from Camden field(where the baltimore whatevers paly baseball..you could get tickets to a game too.) I love going there they have a little italy( a REAL one..totally run by italian immigrants) and just tons of things to do! http://www.baltimore.to/baltimore.html
Kaitlin'smom replied: Nope never been to MD.
thanks for the link, it looks neat I will haev to play around on there more.
Boys r us replied: and DC isn't far from Baltimore at all and you could go there and visit the Zoo and some of the smithsonian museums! That would be a nice long weekend!
Kaitlin'smom replied: wow these are some great ideas!
Our favorite place is Florida, the one year we did not go there (before Kaitlin was born) we were miserable and ended up taking a last minute trip there, and that was proably the best vacation we took.
I am hoping we can go some place different, fun and possibly with a beach.
THANKS EVERYONE............YOU ARE A GREAT HELP!
kit_kats_mom replied: Here are a few things. The caverns look cool! Oooohhh....Mammoth cave in KY? is that a good destination for you guys? I love that place!
Also, maybe spend a couple of days in Cinci. We really enjoyed Gillians while we were there and the kids seemed to like it too. We also really liked the area on the mountian in the middle of the city. I don't remember what it was called but it was the ritzy area. Cool little shops and resteraunts.

I"m sure you could find a few muesums, zoos etc too on your travels.
jcc64 replied: Well, if you like Fla., have you considered Sanibel Island in SW Fla? It's so beautiful and relatively unspoiled. When we were there, there were dolphins not more than 50 yds from us, as well as rays of some kind that were docile enough for us to touch. Right there at the beach. Which was glorious, btw.
coasterqueen replied: Well I'll post my idea, but by the sound of all these other suggestions, mine probably isn't a good one, lol.
We are huge campers. Love to camp. My parents took us camping as kids every year and I had such great memories. We took Kylie on her first camping trip last year and had a blast. She was still young, so I think she will have even more fun when we go this year. We went to a resort where they had lots for kids to do.
Just an idea if you like to camp, but I think I'm a loaner here on that idea, lol.
Kaitlin'smom replied: no your not, we used to camp out but have not in a while, its a good idea. We have a huge tent suppose to sleep 6! We just might have to do that one weekend...when its warm and the snow is gone. Thanks!
DH and I need to decide soon so we can start planning. I am thinking maybe we could do a couple long weekend trips....
MilMunchMOM replied: I took my kids last year, they loved the aquarium, especially the dolphin show. This is a great place to go!!!!
