Also, the forum was attacked by a hacker or virus robot originating in Germany. I have cleaned out the database and forum is back to normal. But if you were getting popups to download a file that was due to the hack. I am sure most of you know, but never download a program that automatically pops up or something you did not click or intentially want. These are always some form of virus or spyware/adware.

I will be investigating this further but it does look like we have a widespread virus/hack going on the net today. You may see similar popups, etc on other websites.... again as long as you have an update virus scanner and do not download programs you never intended then you should be safe.

Any idea what the name of the file would be so we can check to verfiy weather or not we were infected? I do have virus blocking software but I always like to doublecheck.

I do not want to post the exact filename so that hackers searching will not find us talking about it here... but it probably erases itself once it does it's attack anyhow. Did your virus software popup a warning message? If so then it probably blocked it, so you should be ok? Also always make sure your virus software is up2date with its patches.

Boys r us replied: I got those earlier this morning when I logged on and my DH saw it..he said it's the same virus that he and his IT dept have been batting since Sunday night.

ilovemybaby replied: I haven't seen any popups and as far as I know the computer is fine... I know we have AVG and some kind of spyware/adware program. I guess hubby has kept it up to date. Who knows...
