Update! - sorry for the delay!

5littleladies wrote: Well my visit was wonderful! I finally saw someone who actually sat down and explained in detail what is going on with Kate's kidneys. First of all-the dilation doesn't look any worse and it may actually be a bit better. The dr. said he isn't concerned at all-he said it looks like a very mild case and he isn't going to have me come back for any more ultrasounds. Kate will have an ultrasound on her kidneys at 7-10 days after birth just to check on things. The dr. said that this problem is seen in 1 out of every 20-30 babies and that 9 out of 10 times it is simply caused by maternal hormones. The same hormones that are causing my super fun heartburn and constipation (relaxing those muscles) are also causing this part of her kidneys to relax and causing the dilation. In the other 1 out of 10 times it is more often than not a simple case of reflux that is easily treatable by an antibiotic after birth. This is information that would have been wonderful to know oh, 3 months or so ago!! The dr. told me I shouldn't worry at all, so that is what I am doing. We'll see if I can sit back and "enjoy" this last 8 weeks or so. tongue.gif

I can't believe you just have 8 weeks left! ohmy.gif Enjoy it. smile.gif wub.gif Didn't you say this is your last pregnancy?

5littleladies replied:
*Hemming and hawing* It is supposed to be our last. We had it all decided-Jas was going to get "snipped" not long after Kate's birth.....then I started thinking. rolleyes.gif I just turned 30 and I don't think I'm quite ready to make that kind of permanent decision. I don't feel like I'm wanting any more kids, but who knows how I will feel in 2 or 3 years. I'll still be a youngin' by most standards. tongue.gif Then Jas started thinking about it and doesn't know that he wants to leave Brianna as the middle child. He is thinking that 6 might be a better number for us. So to answer the question, yes, I did say this is our last. It still very well may be, but we are leaving our options open for now. God help me. rolling_smile.gif

And while I'm here I have another picture of our little Miss Kate. It isn't as good as the last one I had-she had her hands glued to her face this time, but it is still pretty darn cute! wub.gif (note the pouty lips!)
