Update on us

~Roo'sMama~ wrote: Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been around for the last couple weeks - I've been so tired and just haven't felt like using the little bit of free time I get on the computer. wink.gif

We're all doing ok ~ Andrew is doing all right with having a baby in the house I think, but there's been a lot more whining and tantrums lately. He's started hitting too. sleep.gif The thing is he's mostly really sweet to Allie - it's me and Dh he's a pill with. dry.gif I really hope he adjusts sooner than later - I'm starting to really miss my sweet boy.

Allie is a lot fussier than Andrew was too. She's better during the day - she's never really content when she's awake but the evenings are the worst. She cries and cries... most of the time I can't get her to stop crying and go to sleep until 11 or 12. She wakes up a couple times to nurse - I'm usually still awake from her second feeding when Andrew wakes up for the day at around 6. I've been so tired lately. snooze.gif I can't seem to get Allie to sleep during Andrew's afternoon nap most days either. rolleyes.gif Other than that though, we're good. happy.gif I'll figure it all out sooner or later I guess. tongue.gif

I have a dentist appointment tomorrow - I haven't been to the dentist for like 7 years! ohmy.gif blush.gif I have a tooth that's starting to turn grey where the filling fell out a few years ago. blush.gif blush.gif I hate dentists and I've been putting it off for so long. wacko.gif

Allie is getting pretty mad now so I have to go. Hopefully I'll be able to get online more soon. I hope everyone here is doing well! hug.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: hug.gif hug.gif Sorry your tired! I remember going through this with when Spencer was born, Emily turned into a totally different child. It's just a phase and soon it will pass! Take care of yourself! hug.gif hug.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: It takes awhile to settle into a routine. hug.gif I hope you are able to get some rest. Thanks for checking in, hun. I was wondering where you've been. wub.gif

CantWait replied: Thanks for the update, hope things settle down for ya soon. hug.gif

3xsthefun replied: I'm sorry you are so tired. I hope Alley starts sleeping better for you soon. Thanks for the update. Hope you can get some rest soon. hug.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: hang in there soon they will be napping together and you will have sometime to yourself.

I hope they dentist goes well tomorrow

redchief replied: Tired is understandable. Things will get down to routine soon enough. For now, enjoy your little girl. Andrew will be OK. It's normal for kids his age to go through a little jealous stage. After all, he's not the sole center of attention anymore.

ediep replied: Sara,

it was at 3 weeks when Emma started getting really colicy. I switched bottles, used mylecon, used gripe water, swaddled, tried feeding her in the dark, tried playing soft music....eventually I had to give her to DH and he would somehow get her to calm down. this was everyday

Luckily, it only lasted a few weeks and we setteled into her routine.

she is almost 4 months now and she is a dream!! only fussy when she is tired.

Allie will settle down soon soon.

Andrew will get used to his baby sister in no time.

Hope you get to sleep soon!! I soooooo know how you feel!!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Thanks everyone! hug.gif Edie I've been wondering if maybe Allie's problem is colic. Gas drops aren't helping, and I tried not eating any chocolate or drinking caffeine for a couple days and that didn't make any difference either. She starts getting fussy every evening between 7 and 8 and is miserable until 11 or 12 and then all of a sudden she goes to sleep and is fine for the rest of the night. dunno.gif It's so frustrating because she acts like she wants to eat but when I try to feed her she just cries and chokes on it. wacko.gif

She's better than normal tonight though. She was upset until she pooped a little while ago, and now she's ok... not great but ok. I've noticed that most evenings she won't poop for hours and when she does finally go it's usually right after that that she calms down. unsure.gif

MoonMama replied: hug.gif hug.gif I hope things settle down soon, and you get some rest. Good luck at the dentist, I HATE dentists too. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: Thanks for the update I have been wondering about you guys (and 4littleladies too hint hint). Poor liltte Allie and momma too I hope it starts to get better soon!!! hug.gif

lovemy2 replied: Hey Sara - if Allie is having issues around feedings could be reflux too - just a suggestion - alot of colic is actually reflux and I know Dylan was and still is at times much worse with his reflux at nite....Ped said that he probably is a slow digester and the build up over the day of his feedings makes it worse at nite....just a thought -

Other than that glad all is well - try to "sleep when you can" - I always loved that advice....easier said than done!!
