Update on Kate
5littleladies wrote: Well it isn't the news we were hoping for. One of her kidneys has gotten smaller, but the other has gotten larger. We are now going to be having a level 2 ultrasound with a specialist next week-Looking for a cause, or potentially, other markers for Down Syndrome, enlarged kidneys being one of them. The chances of it being anything like that are very small, but it is a possibility and of course that is what is sticking out in my mind. I wouldn't want or love Kate any less if that were the case, but I am feeling a bit overwhelmed. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Please keep us in your prayers.

lovemy2 replied: I am sorry to hear the news isn't what you hoped - but keep the faith - a child is a child loveable no matter what - and the man/woman/whoever upstairs tends to not give you more than you can handle - many prayers for you and your family

MoonMama replied: Oh honey tons of P&PTs! When I was pregnant with Braedin during a routine ultra sound they found something "funny in his head" this is the exact words the U/S tech used. We were sent to a specialist. During that ultra sound they found what they said was spinal fluid on his brain, and they said his head was "huge" again exact words. Two indicators of Down Syndrome. We were pretty much told to expect it. I know the feeling at too well, you love your baby more then anything and its hard to news to hear, it is very overwhelming. By the next ultra sound at my regular doctors office the fluid was gone, but his head was still considered big. Again we were told it was quite likely and that we could have more tests run. We opted not to have an amniocenteses or other testing done to confirm it or not, because we were not going to "terminate" the pregnancy know matter what. He was and is perfectly fine and healthy and doesn't have Down Syndrome. Doctors don't always know. Hang in there, and KUP. PM if you ever need to talk.
Boys r us replied: A million hugs and prayers coming your way! I know this will be a long wait for you until you know one way or the other!
MommyToAshley replied: I'm sorry that kind of news is always unsettling, and not knowing for sure is the worst. The waiting for an answer is so hard, so try to keep yourself busy and we're here for you. Try not to assume the worst.
I did a ton of research on the different types of U/S, trisomy and downs syndrom, and amnio's so if you have any questions, please let me know. Did you have the AFP or triple screen blood test -- Did they say how that came back?
You and Kate will be in my prayers.
