Update....

momtobe wrote: My wonderful wife wants me to update you guys everyday...she just loves this board and i have been reading some things and it seems like a cool place. But not many husbands seem to be on... wink.gif

Anyways..Sharon is doing wonderful! She got alot of rest last night. Some of the bloodwork came back and so far it shows nothing. But her blood pressure is a little high. Maby from all the stress. The babies are doing good and baby b is still hanging in. Its heart rate has improved a great deal and the doctors are not too worried anymore. But they want to play it safe and keep her in for a few more days... then she will be either on full bed rest or partial bed rest. And she is really sad because she can't go back to work. They hired someone to be there when she goes on maternity leave but i guess they are going to see if she will consider working now because sharon cant work. She is really sad about it because she wanted so much to be there for Abigail. (the heart transplant recepient). Im taking the rest of the week off and will be going back to work next week so we have to hire a home nurse. And someone to do the housework and such. My wife feels so bad because the housework and such she feels is her job. But ive been trying to convinse her its ok....on a happy note she wanted me to share with you all...she felt a movement. she thinks it was one of the babies because it felt like a flutter and twitch.

I need some advice gals... I want to help Sharon get her spirits back up and feel she is not doing a bad job and that i love her no matter what happens, but i dont know what i shoiuld do. I want to tell her that her health and the babies health is more important than a clean house and dinner on the table. She feels she is losing ground and she will be devastaed if we lose baby b...any advice moms?

Kaitlin'smom replied: Thanks for the update again! Your are a great husband! Deffinalty the health of her and the babies are way more imprtant than a clean house (someone can do that for her, even you) and dinner on the table, as long as there is food in the house which you can shop for (might be fun and intersting). He job right now it to take care of her self and the babies. We are all here for you and will lend any support needed.

I am so glad to hear all is okay and baby b is improving. I am sending lots of positive vibes you way!

Maybe you can write her a nice letter telling her how wonderful she is and how right now the only thing you want to to take care of is hersefl and the babies....maybe some little token of apprication for her would also help her to know what important right now.

I know its gonna be hard for her not working or taking care of the house btu tell her to enjoy being pampered....cause in a few months she will have the best job of all!

Lot of luck and thanks again for the update!

5littleladies replied: Thank you so much for the update-I know we are all glad to hear things are improving. I'm sure this must be hard for her though-being on bedrest must be so frusterating, but of course there is absolutly nothing more important than the health of your babies. I don't really have any advice as how to raise her spirits-it sounds like you are a wonderful husband and are doing a great job. Just keep encouraging her and let her know that the babies are the most important thing, not the house or her job, and of course always let her know how much you love her and appereciate her. happy.gif
Tell her we are thinking about her and praying for her and the babies and we send her lots of hugs! grouphug.gif

Shooter replied: Another husband here... thumb.gif Thanks for the update and good for you. I feel sorry for both of you that you have to be away while this is going on. I don't have any specific advice for your situation other than moral support from one husband to another. Hang in there and I hope all goes well for you. smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: We really appreciate the updates! I am glad she is doing better. I can understand her frustration, I would go nuts if I were on bedrest. But, the health of your wife and her babies IS the most important thing.

It sounds like you are a wonderful husband and you are doing a lot already. Just keep reminding her how important she is and the babies are to you. wub.gif

coasterqueen replied: Thank you so much for the updates! You all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. You are a wonderful husband wub.gif

I liked the idea of writing her a letter and letting her know that even though she can't do all those other "jobs" she did, her job now is to take care of herself and her babies and that is the most important job one could have! As far as cleaning, tell her to take advantage of it!!!!! I just recently convinced my DH to get me a cleaning lady (my dd is 15 months now) and it was the best thing he ever did for me!!!! It relieved a lot of stress!

The important thing is to let her know that you are there for her and that you think she already is doing the most important job in the world and that is being pg with your babies!!!! What other awesome responsibility can one have? LOL.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Thank You so much for the update! I'm so glad that things are still going great and that baby b is hanging in there! I think everything you are doing sounds wonderful! Maybe go to one of those stores that sell all those wonderful smelling bubble baths, lotions, creams, and bath salts and having a basket made up for her would be nice. I also saw this on a TV show once a women was on Bedrest and bought a book on how to knit baby blankets, maybe something like that would keep her mind occupied! I'm so sorry that she will not be able to go back to work, just remind her that she is doing the most important job right now keeping those babies growing!

Hang in there, you sound like such a wonderful husband, she is very lucky to have your support! wink.gif

mckayleesmom replied: awwww your a nice husband. Im glad everything is ok...maybe the twins were just knocking each other around...sibling rivalry. biggrin.gif I agree with the letter....just let her know that she does not have to be super man.

jem0622 replied: So glad she is improving and baby b is doing well as the hours pass. Her first job is to just rest and I know that bedrest can drive women absolutely crazy.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a cleaning service take care of my chores...so definitely set up something like that. This too shall pass and she'll be doing it all and asking if she can have that cleaning service back! LOL.

I would say to just customize her little resting place so that she has what she needs. A little fridge. And maybe leave little notes for her and a treat in there before you head off to work. Helps make it all more bearable.

Foot rubs! LOL. Always relaxing. Or see if you can have someone come in and do manicure/pedicures for her so that she at least feels a sense of normalcy and the conversation with that person will break the monotony of the day.

Is she crafty at all? Sewer?Knitter?Cross stitch? She could work on some projects for the babies while she is resting.

You know what would be great? Write a note from the babies to her. Tell her that she is a great mommy and they can't wait to meet her and she has to take extra special care of herself and them so that they grow big and strong and come out fat and happy. :-) Something sentimental like that would really be a treasure.

Babies are only small for so long and then they grow like weeds before you know it.

Lots of hugs to her
Julie

paradisemommy replied: ahh thanks so much for the update!! i'm so happy to hear the babies and her are doing well. their health is so much more important than a clean house. i would so much rather have two happy, healthy babies then a clean house ANYDAY!! just tell her that we all said to enjoy it while she can because once these babies are out then she's gonna be wishing she had all these people catering to her!! rolling_smile.gif

as for a suggestion on something special you can do...

how about a candle-light bedside dinner? you can either cook something special for her or get take-out from her favorite restaurant with maybe some flowers and then just let her know all the things we love to hear! wink.gif about how much you love her and could care less about the house and that her and the babies are just soooo much more important to her. i think she would really like that!! i know it would melt my heart and make me feel better about having to be on bed rest!!!

just keep reminding her all those things ever now and then. we don't ever get tired of hearing that!!

she is very lucky to have someone as wonderful as you!!

aspenblue1 replied: Thank you for updating us. I am glad to hear the babies are still doing well. I can't think of any other ideas.

A&A'smommy replied: im soo sooo glad they are doing alright i was soo worried about them and have been thinking about them all day!!
I think all the other ideas are wonderful and i cant think of anything else right now but i would definitly try all of them (or at least most of them) she is going to be VERY bored!!! You already sound like your doing a WONDERFUL job and even before now she has told us SOO many good things about you! I think mostly tell her how much you love her and all those great things we NEED to hear!!! but anyways keep up the great work and thanks again for the update its nice to know they are doing alright!!!

P.S your little baby b sounds like a fighter he/she doesnt sound like he/she is going to give up!!!

edited to say: its probably a girl lol rolling_smile.gif

kimberley replied: i agree with everyone else that she has to realize she is doing the most important job in the world right now and that is growing those sweet little babies! baby.gif baby.gif everything else pales in comparison to the amazing task she has ahead of her. just be there for her with a shoulder to cry on and lots of hugs cuz pregnancy seems to have a habit of wreaking havoc on mom's emotions ohmy.gif (LOL DH is reading as I write and said havoc is an understatement). just by reading your posts, i get the feeling that you are a great DH and will be everything Sharon needs right now. Writing her a letter would be very sweet... just have the tissue handy bawling.gif

saying lots of prayers for you, Sharon, and the babies. grouphug.gif

CantWait replied:
I agree, a note from the babies would be really sweet. Thanks for the update, I'm glad everything is going well, and hope the rest of the pregnancy goes normal and happy and healthy. Best wishes smile.gif
