Under things
mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: I always put a onesie on Wil under his clothes. I like it for warmth, but also for...I don't know, it just feels right to me. My mom always did it with us. Unless it's scorching hot, I won't, but I guess I have a pet peeve about kids' shirts riding up and exposing their back. I know I'm strange. Anyhow, I understand onesies only go upto 24 months, right? Or do they go bigger? I should make my own, because I just think they are a brilliant invention, although I guess hard for a little one to get open when potty trained, huh? Any suggestions, because Wil is reaching the 24 month mark in clothes.
Also, how big do diapers go? Wil just got moved to #5s, but we're nowhere close to potty training yet. When do you move them to pull-ups?
A&A'smommy replied: Onsies if you look hard enough you can find some bigger than 24months someone gave some to us and as for pull ups I certaintly wouldn't but them on wil the leak really easy BUT I have seen size 6 diapers but I'm not sure what brand or if they have those for all brands we only made it up to size 4 diapers
MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Wow, Logan is just barely into 18 months stuff. And we are still comfortable in size 3 diapers. I think Logan will be potty trained before we have to move up to 5's. As for the onesies, I agree, too hard for little ones potty training, but until then, go for it, I love them too.
MommyToAshley replied: I have found shirts that button at the bottom as big as 4T. I don't think they call them onsies, but they serve the same purpose.
coasterqueen replied: You know I would have told you that you were the strangest person (in a very polite way) BUT my girlfriend is the SAME exact way you are about using undershirts. I think they are a PITA!!!!!
Anyways, I know that you can still get them in larger sizes because her son is almost 2 and he's big for his age and shestill puts him in them. I don't know where you can get them, though.
I know you can get them up to size 4T because Kylie got a jumper dress last winter from someone and the shirt that went with it was a onesie. I thought it was the strangest thing ever and Kylie wore it once and hated it because she couldn't get it undone to go to the bathroom.
CAMSMOM1 replied: I've seen onesies in size 4T's, but it's harder to find. I have seen them at Walmart & Target. I love them too, but you kinda have to search for them, and some stores don't sell them.
Cameron is in size 6 diaper!!! (he's been wearing those for 4 months now.) The biggest size they make is a 6, so I hope he gets potty trained soon, or what will I do???
I buy Huggies Supreme, size 6. I think they fit him the best, since he is really stocky and has a big tummy. I've seen size 6 in most brands, they are the same price as a size 5. I like to buy them at Walmart, they have the best prices.
edited to say: that Pull-Ups are the same size...as a size 6 diaper. And I don't like Pull-Ups, they are really expensive, and a size 6 diaper works just as well. I won't put him in Pull-Ups until he's ready to be potty trained, and that won't be anytime soon, at least it doesn't look like it. So I hope he can stay in size 6 diapers for awhile.
PrairieMom replied: The Boy is in a 6 diaper, but he also wears pull ups and we can get them in a 2T, they seem a little smallish sometimes depending on the brand.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: We buy Matt onsies at Target....He hasn't fit in 24 months since he was 11 month old Sometimes you can find larger sizes at BRu but it is really hit or miss. They do sell little strap things that you can make a shirt a onsie...(dh used to use them under his uniform because he was super anal about his shirt staying perfect...shhhhh don't tell) As for diapers Matt is stilli n 5's so Wil should have a ways to go in them. We also occasionally get 6's if we are buying one of the cheaper no stretch brands. We use Pull ups but it is more if he won't stay still for a new diaper he gets a pull up...or at my moms becuase sometime in the last 24 years she has forgotten how to put a diaper on
My3LilMonkeys replied: I agree that Target is the best place for larger onesies. Like MommyToAshley said, they don't really call them onesies, but they sell that style of shirt up to 4T.
6 is the largest that diapers go. Brooke has been in 6's for a few months and it looks like she has quite a bit of room to grow in them.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Just wanted to add. Katy still wears the onsies a lot she figured out how to unsnap them she just needs me to resnap it after she goes potty. At first I cut the bottoms off of hers that would be cute enough shirts but when she showed me she could unsnap them I was sad I ever cut them up. And we do still buy the onsie brand.
moped replied: Carters make them for up to 5 and I think the childrens place and gap have them too!
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Thanks everyone for the good tips!
Lisa, if Matt can still wear 5s, I'm sure Wil does have a lot of time in them. We can still get away with 4s too, but I was getting annoyed with how snug they were and the tabs weren't coming over smoothly. Again I'm anal about things fitting right, maybe that's why I like the onesies under clothes all the time...call me crazy!
Oh shoot, I was just at Target, but maybe I'll try the Carters outlet!
