Ultrasound moved up
Char Lee wrote: Okay ladies, that spotting is really driving me crazy. It disappears for a long while then comes back plus now I have fluid (clear) also. So I called the Maternity Care Clinic here in Calgary and asked questions. She feels that if I do not have any cramps then things are fine. Still worried. So she called for me to change my U/S date to May 26, tomorrow, at 2:30. Maybe it will help me fell less scared. Just letting you all know. Tomorrow I will tell you what happened. Pray for me that it is nothing and the baby is very healthy and growing. Should be at least 2 inches long. I should be at a little less than 11 wks. Thanks for listening.
kit_kats_mom replied: Would renting a doppler ease your mind at all? I know that in the states (and I don't see why not in Canada) you can rent a doppler that you can listen to the baby's heartbeat with (once you find it). I rented one with my last pregnancy and it really eased my mind until I was able to actually feel the baby moving around.
I got mine from babybeat.com but there are others available. Mine was about $35 each month.
Char Lee replied: That does sound like a great idea but it isnt in canada yet. I talked to drug stores and the maternity care clinic and we probably wont see it for another couple of years. Thanks for the great idea.
I will just pray all night and go to the U/S tomorrow. I may even take another pregnancy test in morning. The nurse said when you lose the baby, you are in extreme pain because it is 2 inches long. I havent been. All I have to do is think about that.
Well I will try to relax this evening. I do have a friend coming over for the evening so it will take my mind off things. Thanks for listening.
A&A'smommy replied: ((((BIG HUGS))))) I'm sure everything is fine with your sweet little baby! I hope you show us your pictures ASAP lol I LOVE u/s pictures they are SO beautiful!
jem0622 replied: Char Lee I believe you can rent one from an online company. It doesn't matter if you are in the US or CA. I would give it a try. Because by 10 wks you can usually hear the heartbeat with a doppler and they rent similar ones to that of the OB kind. I thought about it but now that I'm carrying twins I would drive myself nuts so I'm not going to bother. Just have lots of positive thoughts.
Glad they moved you up. With multiple losses behind you they should be treating you as a high risk pregnancy.
Update us when you know more!

ediep replied: good luck! Update us when you get home!
amynicole21 replied: I'm sure that a beautiful pic of your perfect baby will ease your mind tremendously! Please keep us posted.
Oh, and I had a babybeat during my pregnancy and used it almost daily until I delivered. I loved that thing! I suggest really looking into that. I am certain you can find one online. Good luck!!
CantWait replied: I can't believe they're not being more helpful to you...that really sucks. Also if you can afford it, Zellers sells baby moniters/dopplers. Don't know how well they work, but I'm sure if you disatisfied with it, you could always return it. Good Luck at the ultrasound tomorrow, let us know how it goes
Char Lee replied: Thanks for the ideas. But if it is expensive I will have to leave it. Money is very tight. I will ask the U/S people tomorrow about it. But I think after seeing it on the monitor I will be fine. Thanks everyone.
jem0622 replied:
I know there is one you can rent and it's $25/mo. That wouldn't be too bad, huh? Just rent it until you get to 20 wks. Free shipping too!
Good luck today! Thinking of you!
kimberley replied: i am glad you got your u/s moved up so you can ease your mind that baby is fine. i had the fisher price monitor/doppler and it sucked. i had the TRU brand too and it didn't work either. don't waste your money. as for the baby beat, it works and it is about $25US/mo to rent and you could just rent it for a couple of months like Julie said. they will ship to Canada because i looked into it when i was pg with Jade. or you can do what i did... whenever in doubt, go in to a clinic or see your OB. that is the best reassurance around my prayers are with you today for a H&H baby. please update when you can.
coasterqueen replied: Glad you are getting it done today! Let us know how it goes.
Char Lee replied: Thanks for the ideas ladies. I took another test this morning it is still positive. Also, funny no spotting this morning or blood. Anyhow, I will check out the monitor and I am going to ask the tech maybe there is one they can suggest to me. Money is very tight right now. I need to pay off a couple of bills before th baby comes and I cant. Sorry to be so down this morning. My mom was upset last night and took it out on me and well...I just feel like crap. I hope I am making the best discissions for myself, knowing that the father may not be there for me or the baby. So many things are going to change in the next year in a half. After the baby is born I have to moved because the owner of the house I am in does not like children. Trying to save as much money as possible. No extras, not even going out with friends. I will stop now. I am sorry, to bum any of you. I will let all of you know what happens today.
MommyToAshley replied: I am glad you got the U/S moved up, it will really ease your mind. Don't be afraid to call your doctor or even insist on an appointment if you feel you need one. When I was about 32 weeks, I freaked because I didn't feel Ashley move all day which was unusual for her. I drank some OJ and laid down on my left side and that still didn't work, so I called my OB and they got me in for an U/S later that afternoon. When I got there, as soon as I laid down on the U/S table, Ashley started kicking everywhere. I was a little embarassed, but it was better to be safe. I guess the point is that you should never feel bad about calling your OB.
I will keep you and your baby in my thoughts and prayers. Try to relax until your appt, and please be sure to update us when you get back.
