Ultrasound Question - and the sex of the baby

moped wrote: How many of you have tried to find out the sex, but they couldn't tell for whatever reason?????

DillsMommy replied: That would be frustrating. I'm somebody who HAS to know. Fortunately Dylan and this baby had legs WIDE open!

Kaitlin'smom replied: that woudl have frustrated me. I was advides to drink somehting sweet like OJ or sprite before. I had to know I did not have much time to get ready. So when do you go?

moped replied: I go August 3rd.......

Boo&BugsMom replied:
Same with our boys! laugh.gif

My SIL didn't know with her second. She went in for 2-3 ultrasounds and each time her daughter had her legs crossed. She's still stubborn til this day, and she's now 7. laugh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: shoot thats still over a month away......I am sure it will fly by. Are you axious?

moped replied:
Yes I am totally pumped to see what it is but when I called of course the woman said "Well you know sometimes they can't tell and some won't tell you"....I said I understand, I have been down this road before etc etc.......

indywndy_04 replied: Not to get you thinking anything...BUT - I was told that when they think it is a girl, they wait until the 20 week appt. before saying anything to make sure it really isn't a boy that hasn't showed himself fully yet. smile.gif

moped replied:
I will be 20 weeks by then - I made it late intentionally

mummy2girls replied: yes... Jenna kept her legs crossed.. but the amnio i had to get told me she was a girl!

A&A'smommy replied: A friend of mine is having trouble seeing what she is going to have.. she goes again in a couple of weeks. I will have to tell her to drink some oj before she goes tongue.gif

lovemy2 replied: Both my kids were very cooperative - I would have lost it if I had to wait tongue.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
yeah no kidding me too... we "found" out at around 16 or 17wks and then confirmed that she was a girl at around 20wks tongue.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: sometimes they say you can tell by the heart beat, i forget which one is faster and which one is slower, but all of mine have had heart rates in the 130's and i got boys...what has the babys heart rate been?

moped replied:
The most recent was 173

boyohboyohboy replied: does anyone know if girls are the higher heart rate and boys are slower????

moped replied: I asked her and she said it does not have anything to do with the sex - who knows....we shall wait and see I guess.

With Jack I was certain the whole time it was a boy. And it was

I am also certain this is a boy, but everyone telling me it is a girl now my head is getting confused

Either way I am thrilled

BAC'sMom replied: They "say" that a girls heartrate is higher. wink.gif It was in my case my DD heartrate was way higher than either of my boys.

lovemy2 replied:
Yep - Olivia's heartrate was always faster than Dylan's....

Hmmmm - might be a little Jen in the works there huh??!!!!

stella6979 replied: During my ultrasound Avery was a good little girl and had her legs closed. I just got up and jogged around the room a bit and that did the trick. wink.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied: They do say a girl's heartrate is higher...It has held true for any I have witnessed. I personally have always wondered why they don't just count ribs in a sono huh.gif ...I know that they can see them-there must be a reason they don't but I have never heard one smile.gif

indywndy_04 replied: Girls are higher. My baby boy now is only in the 130's....

I personally think it is a girl, because they obviously didnt see anything when she went to get the ultrasound or they would have said that it looked like a boy...but instead they said they couldnt really tell right now...so that tells me they didnt see any boy parts and are confirming that on the next ultrasound incase he is a slow grower down there. kwim? I am saying it is a girl!!!! smile.gif Especially with that heart rate!!! smile.gif

msoulz replied: We were opposite. We didn't want to know but when looking at the ultrasound I thought I saw the three lines for a girl, and then the tech used the pronoun "her", which I tried to ignore and tell myself that the tech wanted to use "her" instead of "it", but she really did slip as it was my Erin!

moped replied: I just emailed my freind who has 2 girls and she both her girls were 130-140.......anyways, it doesn't matter either eay - I just really want to know if I need to do some serious shopping!!!!!

lovemy2 replied:
Oh just think of ALL the shopping you get to do if its a GIRL baby.gif wub.gif
