Boys r us wrote: talk to themselves? as in hold conversations?
I guess it's pretty normal(I'm more or less hoping) but he will talk his head off to someone, being both the talker and the talkee(ha). I'm not kidding, he's sitting here right now saying, "do you want one?" ..."yes, I want two" ..."No thir(sir) you can only have 1 because they are my favorite" .."okay"...."here ya go"
He does this all of the time!!!!!!!!!
ediep replied: sooooo cute!!! I can just see that cute little man doing that!!!
Jason doesn't do this yet, but I am sure its totally normal!
~Roo'sMama~ replied: LOL!! Sounds like something you should get on video ~ that's just too cute!!
moped replied: I don't really apply to this question, but I am still waiting for than MOM to come out of his mouth
Maddie&EthansMom replied: *jumping up and down waving arms in the air*
Maddie does this and has since she was able to TALK! No lie! Just exactly as you described, too. She also has an imaginary friend. Nope, it hasn't gotten better either. She is 5 and STILL does it! It is so funny. She has such a vivid imagination.
MommyToAshley replied: Ashley does this too... this girl is NEVER quiet. She will usually say something and then make one of her toys talk or make her fingers acts like puppets and answer herself. The only way I know that she is asleep is when she stops talking, and even then she still talks in her sleep sometimes.
kit_kats_mom replied: Katherine does it all the time. In the car, in her playroom...everywhere.
Just like you described. It's halarious sometimes but in the car it can get old pretty fast.
Jamison'smama replied: Yes! Jamison does the puppet thing too--it cracks me up. She is NEVER quiet! She holds imaginary phone conversations--serves dinner to imaginary people, talks to herself constantly!
ian'smommy replied: Ian does it too... He will make his toys talk to each other mostly. But they have conversations like that a lot. He recently watched Lion King and he went and grabbed a couple of toys. One was "Simba" and one was just some blue stuffed animal that he somehow thought to call him "Tigger". Anyway, Simba was up really high and started to fall. Ian made him say, "Tigger, help me!" And Tigger said I'm coming, hold on!" I can watch him play all day.
I actually heard that kids having imaginary friends is normal and even healthy. Develops the imagination.
My2Beauties replied: Obviously I haven't experienced this yet with Hanna because of her age, so I'm sorry to laugh but it sounds cute, and personally I would think it was normal to do that, I can remember talking to myself as a kid - but I still do that to this day so
kit_kats_mom replied: Do your kids have alter egos too? Katherine is "Salei". I don't know where she got that name (like Sallie with an accent) but occasionally I'll be chatting to her in the car and all of a sudden I'll say something like "Katherine, do you want to go get ice cream?" and she will say "I'm not Katherine, I'm Salei. Salei wants ice cream though"
Someone please admit that you child does that too...or am I the only one with Sybil for a child?
redchief replied: My brother used to "play baseball." He was pitcher, hitter and announcer all at once. He did it from about 2 1/2 to four. we'd watch him out of the corners of our eyes for hours (if he SAW you were watching him, he'd quit). Near as we can tell he grew into a normal adult male.
ammommy replied: Alec does it too. The boy even talks in his sleep. We spent months trying to get him to talk, so I guess he has some catching up to do
Maddie&EthansMom replied: YEP! And Maddie's are always really weird made up names like that. She also has an imaginary friend (whom I've mentioned in the past) Her imaginary friend is Zoe, the pony. She is different colors like the pony on the Wizard of Oz. At first she was just pink and now she is rainbow colored. Everything is all about Zoe. Especially if it is something she wants. "Zoe's mom lets her wear makeup" "Zoe likes pink ice cream" "Zoe lives on a farm" All of her stories are consistent, too. It is pretty funny. And no, Maddie NEVER stops talking. EVER!! My days are SO LOOOOOOONG!
Jamison'smama replied: Hmmmm, alter egos--- haven't heard Jamison do that--but she has named her imaginary friend--Doegee (spelled phonetically because I am sure she'd spell it Dogie/.
