Uh OH... jenna has discovered....

mummy2girls wrote: that she can push her chair up agaisnt the kitchen counter and stand on it to watch what im doing. She scaed the crap out of me because as i was cooking she was sitting at her little table and chairs. I walked away from the stove to get somethimng and when i turned around jenna had pushed the chair up agaisnt the stove and was about to grab the hot burner to get up.OMG! She has never done this so i never really figured she would. So now i showed her the safe place she can do this and i keep all knives out of reach now and she goes to that same spot i showed her was safe. She only does this when im cooking so im not to worried. But in case i did rearrange things and put sharp things up. Man i almost had a heart attack!

FroggyJK replied: OMG! That is so scary!!!!

So glad she didn't get hurt.

MommyToAshley replied: How scarey! I am glad that she didn't get hurt.

I am paranoid about this and gate off the kitchen and don't let Ashley in there while I am cooking. She might stand on a chair and pour things or help mix, but then she goes outside of the gate when the stove or oven comes one. I know they make security guards for stoves, but they won't work with our stove.

I hope Jenna doesn't try that again!

kimberley replied: omg, that is scary!!! glad she is okay. grouphug.gif

mummy2girls replied:
io would love to do seomething liek that also but the wway my klitchen and dinning room is set up there isnt a long enough gate made to fit!

MommyToAshley replied:
Oh yeah, I remember you mentioned that before. I think they make gates with extensions now... not sure if even that would be long enough though. I hope you are able to figure something out.

darrylswifeskylersmom replied: thats scary glad she is ok!!!

Kaitlin'smom replied: ohmy.gif oh how scary. Kaitlin also likes to be in the kitchen when I cook or do the dishes, and I have the same thing they way its set up no gate would fit. DH usually tries to entertain her while I cook, but she loves to help unload the dishwasher, i just have to pull all the sharp knives out before I can let her help.

A&A'smommy replied: OMG that would have scared the crap out of me too!!!! Goodness I'm glad you turned around in time!! I'm so incredibly amazed at what they can do in the amount of time that you turn around do to do something quick its freaky... Kids are SO smart!

Josie83 replied: She's a clever little thing! Cassie loves to be picked up and sat on thebench when Jason and I are in the kitchen, but she doesn't have any way to get up there by herself. Jenna is a clever little thing, I hope she stays out of toruble! xx

DansMom replied: Yikes!! Daniel is really interested in my cooking and in seeing things boiling and frying. He has reached up and almost touched the burner a couple of times and made my heart stop. I say "NO!! HOT!!! Hurt!!" I'm not sure he gets it. sad.gif I'm glad you got to Jenna in time!

Gatalita replied: ohmy.gif I am so... glad she is ok. That is scary.

However, this may sound alittle weird... but, it works for my sister. You can go to a local pet store and they have a metal gate type thing that is kinda' like a play pin that dogs can play in and cannot get out. It opens up and it closes up in a circle. Another thing u might try is putting her in a play pin... unsure.gif It might work.
