UGH Morning Sickness - Just hit.

Mommy2Be wrote: I have been fine so far in fact I have wanted to eat everything in site. But when I woke up this morning I was feeling kind of queasy but I didn't think much of it I just ate some dry toast. Well, Gracie and I went out Christmas/baby shopping today with my Mom (this is my Mom's first grandchild so she is beyond excited). After a while we decided to have lunch well we walked in the restaurant and I instantly turned green I managed to make it through lunch somehow. Then Tyler came home to take Gracie to her gymnastics class so I could rest but he brought home his grandmothers fish stew which to be honest I have always been a bit scared to eat (you would be too if you saw it). I again turned green and asked him to eat it in the kitchen he said okay then proceeded to eat it in the living room and laughs off and on the entire time. He really made me mad mad.gif he thinks this is so funny UGH. Anyone else have this problem with there men? Also any morning sickness tips would be greatly apreciated . Thanks so much sorry for going on and on and on. help.gif

GavinsMommy replied: The only thing that worked for me was making sure I always had something in my stomach. Whenever I started to feel even a tad bit nauseated, I would eat something small like an apple or something. It always helped. I only actually vomited about 7 times during my pregnancy and it was bc of that. smile.gif

Sorry you're having such a hard time. But it gets much worse. Lol. So enjoy this time that you have right now. How far along are you? I'm due in just a few days. The 2nd trimester is definitely the best as far as how you will feel. The 3rd is the worst IMO. Even though it's so nice to feel the baby move in the 3rd trimester...it can be a real pain to be pregnant now sad.gif

Good luck and keep something in your tummy!!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Okay, just the sound of 'fish stew' makes me want to puke.gif Ewwwww! Yes, my DH got a kick out of my misery at times. rolleyes.gif With my first I wasn't as sick as I was with my second. It should get better for you. I'm sorry you are feeling so icky right now. Try to take it reeeeaaaaallllllllyyyyyy slow in the mornings. Don't leave the house without something in your tummy and in your purse. wink.gif Some crackers or granola bars....even a piece of candy. Take care of yourself. Don't over exert yourself or you may faint. (I'm not kidding) Watch the household cleaners you use....they can certainly make you light headed and nauseous. grouphug.gif You will be fine. In a few months this will be a thing of the past! wink.gif

A&A'smommy replied: oh hun I'm sorry that really sucks! I never had morning sickness with Alyssa but I have heard of these suckers that you can eat when you get it. As far as your dh that is SOO insensitive had some to do with you getting pg to so he has to suffer too by EATING IN THE KITCHEN sorry I just have a really sore spot for that kind of stuff blush.gif

loveydad replied: Hey Men can be good (I wasn't with my first wife) but i was pretty ..well i'd like to say I was supportive. Anywa I'm having trouble with the men in my life, my sons!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm sorry you're not feeling well! I myself am just finally getting over this stage, so I know how you feel! wink.gif Keeping my tummy full helped keep me from feeling worse, but it didn't keep me from feeling sick at all. When I was feeling really sick, grapefruit or something else sour sometimes made it go away. Today I was feeling sick because I was really hungry, so I ate an orange while my lunch was cooking and it helped a lot. thumb.gif I hope you start feeling better soon! grouphug.gif

Alice replied: I'm so sorry you're feeling so sick. I'm so envious of those women who say they never had morning sickness: with both my pregnancies I had 8 solid weeks of getting sick each day. (In case you're wondering, my son is adopted-- that's why there were only 2 pregnancies)

The only things that helped me were:
1) taking saltine crackers everywhere I went. Honest-- I brought them to a wake, kept some in the car... you name it. They really helped.

2) taking my pre-natal vitamins at night. It always seemed as though I was sick as a dog 20 minutes after taking them. Switching to night helped, since I could lie in bed and not move.

3) Forget any attempt at looking not-pregnant-yet. Wear clothes that are comfortable around your middle!!

Good luck! For what it's worth, both times I stopped completely at the start of my 2nd trimester.

Feel better!

MomToMany replied: I'm so sorry the morning sickness came. I've never had to deal with it, but just wanted to offer my support.

You got some great advice. I think the saltines and keeping something your tummy would help the best.

TeagansMom609 replied: I had morning sickness too. I had it REAL bad up until 14 wks, then it was like someone turned off a switch. I just woke up one day and it was gone. But until then I did nothing but lay in bed everyday. I couldnt go outside because it was summer and the heat made me feel even worse. Thank god it eventually went away because it was horrible. I threw up all day until I went to sleep. It never stopped. Nothing helped me. I tried it all. Ginger, crackers, etc. I hope you dont get it that bad. Thats why before we try to have another one we have to be very financially ready since I wont be able to work in the beginning. I lost 10 lbs. in the beginning from being so sick, and only gained 16 through out my whole pregnancy. (that was the only good part) So I guess I can thank morning sickness for that. LOL. Why cant we be part of the small percentage of women who dont get it? sad.gif

Boys r us replied: Aw honey, I'm sorry you're not feeling very well! With my first pregnancy, I was sick almost the entire time, just constantly throwing up, I couldn't even brush my teeth without it making me sick. With my 2nd little guy, I never actually threw up, just felt like I was going to for about the first 4 months. I was able to alleviate the nausea by keeping something small on my stomach at all times...only down side to that? lol I gained 80 pounds in that pregnancy blink.gif haa..

My2Beauties replied: I only barfed once the whole time I was pregnant but boy was I nauseated every single day I got out of that bed until around 2:00 in the afternoon, it was awful. I would gag off of everything, even carrying on a coversation made me gag, everytime I opened my mouth my eyes would water and I would gag! I ate lots of crackers, I should have bought stock in Saltines, they helped a great deal, oh and a ginger ale helped me also. Word of advice, never ever ever ever ever drink Orange Juice with morning sickness, that is what made me puke and when I say puke, I puked everywhere!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah and bananas aren't good for morning sickness neither, keep those for the third trimester and those terrible leg cramps at night. Potassium helps with that but that is about it!

Mommy2Be replied: Aww thank you so much everyone it really means a lot,

Thank you so much for all of the advice you all are awesome. So far keeping something in my stomach is helping a bit and eating saltines has helped today a lot. I am going to get some ginger ale and try that out too. I also think I will switch to taking my pre-natal vitamins at night I lost it both yesterday and today about 30 minutes after taking it. My Mom mentioned eating something sour as well to kind of act against it. Yeah I was so MAD at Tyler for thinking if was funny and being insensitive about it but he did apologize and promised to try to be better and more understanding about it. Thanks again everyone and big hugs to those of you who had it too and of course hugs to everyone else to thanks for everything. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

P. S. Viggo I am so sorry I was not trying to guy bash at all blush.gif Tyler just really urked me. From what I have read you sound like an awesome father and I am sure you were very supportive. Hugs

Alice replied: As far as finding it funny:

Brian arrived from Korea at age 7 months, and then 6 months later I was pregnant. During those 6 months, he and I would play the game of "Scary Monsters" He would hold on to the coffee table and chasel me around and we would growl at each other... kind of like tag with sound effects.

Well, apparently the sound effects of Scary Monster are the same as those of Morning Sickness. For the first few weeks I was sick every day, Brian would come into the bathroom (door was kept open so I could keep an ear on him) and imitate the sounds I was making as I got sick. ohmy.gif I think he expected me to chase him.
