UGH! - I need to vent
Ellie wrote: My sister in law just called me and told me that my mother in law thinks I'm a drunk. Apparently a glass of wine at dinner or a beer with my husband makes me a drunk!
mom2my2cuties replied:
Sorry I don't have any advice since my MIL isn't usually a wench...But I can give hugs.
coasterqueen replied: Sorry she said that about you. Does she drink at all?
Ellie replied: No, she's a total teetotaler (I have no idea if that's spelled right)
But my husband drinks more than me! But I guess since I'm not her precious son, I'm a drunk. I'm waiting to calm down before I call Josh.
kimberley replied: sorry hon! lotsa hugs your way
TheOaf66 replied: I hope not because then I am a total drunk
Sorry to hear that, I guess I would approach the situation delicately
mckayleesmom replied: Well....smack me and sign me up for AA....I sometimes have a drink or 5 every other weekend or so...
redchief replied: Hello, my name is Ed, and I've been known to have a Captain and Coke, Parrot Bay and Cranberry, and/or a beer on occasion.
Ellie replied: I called Josh. He said to ignore her. Everyone in the family knows I'm not a drunk.
Normally we get along fine. I have no idea why she felt the need to start making up crap about me.
I could use a drink.
haha, maybe I am a drunk
holley79 replied: Well I'm a Lush according to my MIL. Want me to sign us all up for a community AA meeting.
Ignore her. That is my best advice. I think I have the WORST MIL in the world so i feel your pain.
BTW: Welcome to PC.
mom2my2cuties replied: Holley I think you DO have the worst MIL in the world
Ellie replied: Thanks Holley. Now I'm scared to find out about your MIL!
And normally, she's fine. I don't really have any horror stories about her. We've been married for 3 years.
holley79 replied: I really do don't I.
Ellie, stick around and I'm sure I will post about her again about a million times. I'm glad you dont' have a lot of beef with your MIL. It makes for a very hard life for you and DH.
C&K*s Mommie replied: Hello, my name is Nicole- I too have a problem with drinking on occassion within reason.
ETA: Glad your DH gave you good advice to simply ignore her.
to the boards!
gr33n3y3z replied: sorry sweetie
I guess I'm a drunk also bc I went to the local bar Friday night and had 2 beers lol
J-rod replied: i must be an alcoholic then....
Ellie replied: I'm pretty sure I qualified as a lush in college but I can't remember the last time I was drunk.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Well then by all means sign me up for AA as well. I hardy drink anymore....unless we are having a party....
she is a party pooper. ignore her.
so anyone up for a drink? I have had a terrible day.
Ellie replied: You know I'm in.
I'm making chile relleno casserole for dinner. Maybe I'll have a Dos XX with it.
coasterqueen replied: Well if you are a drunk then what would you call my husband? He used to drink EVERY night, several drinks a night, but now he just has a couple of drinks on Wednesday night (guys night out) and on the weekend.
I'd ignore her for sure.
Boo&BugsMom replied: This reminds me...I could really use a Rip Tide right about now (cranberry, pineapple, and Malibu). But I can't.....WaaaahhhhhHH!!!!!!
I would ignore her. Let it in one ear and out the other.
CantWait replied: HELLLLO MY NAME IS AMRIE, AND I'M A USHL. Seriously I love my glass or two, sometimes half the bottle of wine on occassion, and if I go out to party, then dang it count on me coming home half tanked.
Cheers
