Tried to get a perm yesterday..

SomeSweetChick wrote: Yesterday I went to my salon to get a perm, I was really excited too! Well I couldnt get one because she said I have died my hair to much, I have blonde under my brown hair at the bottom, She asked if it was sun-in I said no, she asked if it was bleach I said no, She thought it was going to be okey but then she asked how many times I died it, I said 4. Ugh oh! Darn. So she gave me this hair treatment and said if I came back for a couple more of these treatments in about a month I should be able to get a perm. I was looking through a mag while the treatment was soaking in, found some cute bangs, and asked if she could cute mine like that, she said yep and she did. I'll share pictures just not right now, because I havn't got a shower yet today, well it is only 7:00am smile.gif

1lilpeanut2love replied: I dye my hair alot too. I would like a perm too. I love curly hair. Didn't know you couldn't get a perm if you dyed your hair too much?!? I would love to see pics.

moped replied: I thought perms were illegal! LOL....that is what I tell my neighbor who gets on faithfully every 2 months!

I always say, "Hello, this is the 80's calling can we have our hair back"...............

Seriously though...........................be careful with a perm, very hard on your hair, and from your siggy you have fabulous hair!

CantWait replied: I agree, very damaging to your hair, and it's really hard to tell how it's going to turn out.

I have naturally curly hair, but I wanted more of a ringlet curl for my grade 8 graduation, so I went in and it turned out to be more of a crip, as if I braided my hair and took them out the next day. It was worse then what I started off with.

Kaitlin'smom replied: My problem with perms with my hair is they take to well and they have to grow out wacko.gif drove me nuts, yet some how I did it twice rolling_smile.gif

luvmykids replied: I've heard perm solutions and techniques have come a long, long way. I don't know that I would do it again, but if you decide to do it let us see pics!

C&K*s Mommie replied: Look forward to seeing the pics of your newly styled bangs. smile.gif

my2monkeyboys replied: Just to share this, my mom got a perm when I was 14 years old. (I'm 30 now.) A spiral perm, I think they called it. Well, it's never gone away. Her hair is just as curly today as it was back then. And her hair was STRAIGHT when she got it. Her dr. said that her hormones were probably changing when she had it done and it just kind of stayed that way, or something like that. Anyway, just wanted to share that. What a way to get your money's worth! laugh.gif

Brias3 replied: It's your choice but it looks like you have beautiful hair already! I'd be careful with a perm, you never know how your hair type can turn out with one. If you're looking to give your hair a little life, maybe you should look into a wave to start. Either way, glad you had a successful bang trim! I just got my highlights touched up yesterday and was brave enough to let her cut me some long bangs I sweep to the side. smile.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Perms are much different these days and lots of people get them for more body and not the spiral perm. If you have super straight hair it's not a bad idea. wink.gif I bet it will look cute. I can't wait to see pics of your bangs thumb.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I have also been told to chose between dying my hair and a perm because it damages your hair way to much to do both and most salons refuse to do it.

C&K*s Mommie replied: so.... any pics yet of the bangs? smile.gif happy.gif

SomeSweetChick replied: Thank ya'll, having trouble with my camers right now, I'll get the pics up asap.
