Momof3inMe replied: DS#2 's name is Carter and I have never seen his name on a list of popular names! Maybe this means I will see it more in the stores. I can never get things with the kids names on them b/c I can never find his name.

AlexsPajamaMama replied: I read somewhere that Emily has been a top baby name for the past 10 years!!

Halo42101 replied: Thank you for posting the names. I have found that the name Brady for a boy is getting popular. Anyone else hear of it?

ashtonsmama replied:
Yep, I have a friend with a son named Brady.

And YAY for Ashton being on the Boy's Names list!!!

mckayleesmom replied:
Really?...I know a ton of kids named Carter...seemed really popular for a while.

I'm sort of mixed about Ashton becoming more popular, KWIM?\

But I'm surprised about Ansley's name--and Callum's too! I know 2 little girls named Anslie/Ainsley, and a little boy named Callum plays with my nephew.

BAC'sMom replied: I would much rather Not have my kids names on the list. I have Never met another Ansley but there was a lady on PC from England that named her son Callum. I love it that their first names are Very unique, but their middle names are very common. (Caden, Faye and Reily)

ashtonsmama replied:

And Faye isn't so common!

My3LilMonkeys replied:
Neither is Caden or Reily in my area...I don't know anyone with any of those names except my grandmother (Faye).

I am happy to see Madison is off the list - we didn't realize it was a top 10 name when we picked it (# 2 in 2005). I don't mind common names, but I try to avoid the wildly popular/trendy names - I don't want my kids to grow up being one of 5 or 6 kids in their class with the same name.

ashtonsmama replied:
I know a couple Kaden/Caden's actually...but we were hoping for a sort of unusual but not too wierd name with Ashton, and the Reece we just liked.

If this one's a girl, I was just thinking the other night, wouldn't it be cute if we used part of Ryan's name (sort of, bear with me) and named her Ryanna/Rhianna/Rianna, something like that? Too wierd?

Momof3inMe replied:
Not around here. I wish it was kinda b/c he always wants things with his name on it and I can never find stuff!!! I only know one other child with the same name. He was a little boy at a daycare I worked at.

ions_momma replied: Well, obviously Ion isnt on the list, but that is one thing I have always wanted, a unique name. I dont know why but I have always liked the less-popular names that nobody has heard of and not alot of people have.

Nina J replied: I kind of like the more un-poplar names, except I did use Emily. It get's annoying when you know so many Emilys, there are heaps where I live. When Emily starts school there will probably be 4 Emily's in her class, if they still live here. So maybe it's not such a bad thing if she goes by her middle name, at least it won't get confusing for her.

But it has it's upsides, I can always find something with her name on it. I don't think we'll find many things with Odessa written on it though.
