Toliet Paper Tuesdays!?!?! - what in the world?!?!
AshleyRose wrote: I was over looking at the IVillage forum at the Feb expecting club and they were posting under a thread named Toliet Paper Tuesday. I was completely clueless so I had a peak and found everyone saying how many pieces of toliet paper they were this week . I guess its a world wide measuring tape for how big you are getting. So I tried to see how many pieces of toliet paper I am and it was 7 1/4. It was funny measuring myself with toliet paper... i must have looked ridiculous if someone saw me in the window.
I hope that is what Toliet Paper Tuesdays mean... What if it isn't? I just made myself look like a complete idiot . :prays she figured it out right :
So IF i am right, lets have TPT!!!
Post your measuremnet!!
amynicole21 replied: You have it right! It's an old baby shower game. I have no idea how many I am now, but at my baby shower I think it took 12 squares to get around my middle!!!!
kit_kats_mom replied: LOL. You are right. ROFL
Thanks for reminding me to have a look-see online to find out which brand of toilet paper has the biggest squares.
MommyToAshley replied: LOL! Sounds like fun!
We'll have to start toilet paper tuesday here too.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: LOL!!!! Yup. That's exactly what it means. I haven't been over at IVilliage in a long time.
AshleyRose replied: I don't like it..... (IVillage) because every reply to a topic is on a different page unless you pay... its silly but I like to drop in and check on everyone once in a while...
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I know. It's one of the main reasons that I don't go over there anymore. I used to be pretty active In the group when I was pg with Jade. It was really hard to post after she was born so I kind of lost touch with people. Once I made the move over here I just sort of forgot about it. I like this board so much better.
kimberley replied: haha i remember that game. we did it on an august 03 expecting board. i think i got up to 8 1/2 squares! lol
i haven't been to the IV boards in a long time. they really died off when the format changed.
5littleladies replied: I just ran out of toilet paper so I will have to go get some and then measure. I'm afraid to see how many squares I am-My clothes are already too tight.
AshleyRose replied: So do you just measure the front of you from the sides or all around??
kimberley replied: all the way around! and that is no easy task in the later months lol
and don't forget, it differs depending on what type of paper you use. some brands have huge squares!
jem0622 replied: I've never done it. Probably b/c I don't want to know! LOL. I left IV a loooong time ago.
coasterqueen replied: LOL! I've never heard of that!
I still hang around IVillage to help support other mothers who are breastfeeding. I'm good friends with one of the CL's there ;-) And I like to stay in contact with my playgroup.
Kila replied: So I decided to take a break at work and check to see what everyone was up to. I ran across this post and I couldn't resist going to the bathroom to see. I kid you not, I was in the stall measuring my fat belly AT WORK. Too funny. My bf is going to laugh when I tell him. The magic number is 10 This weight gain has been difficult for me mentally and physically. I've gained 36 lbs alsready and I still have 3 more months left. The dr expects that I'll have gained around 60 lbs by the time that I'm done. Oh well. What areyou going to do, right?
paradisemommy replied: i really wouldn't worry about it at all!! that's about what i gained when i was pg but i was happy!! ..my next door neighbor couldn't keep anything down her whole pregnancy. she gained maybe 20 lbs i think and up until she gave birth she only looked about 4 to 5 months along AND she was anemic. i say enjoy your pg and keep gainin!!
A&A'smommy replied: OH LORD thats too funny I have never heard of that I can't amagin what I was before alyssa was born and kila hun I gained WAY more than 60 pounds when I was pg and believe me that was horrible I was REALLY REALLY skinny before I got pregnant so it I undestand how you feel! (((HUGS)))
MommyToAshley replied:
OMG--- that is too funny, I can just picture you in the bathroom at work, measuring your belly with toilet paper!
I wouldn't be too hard on yourself, I bet your work buys the cheap stuff with small squares! Can you make a request that they buy the bigger squares. LOL
I went from my normal weight of 135 to over 200lbs with my PG!!! (And, I only ate healthy foods) It was weird though because everyone kept telling me that it looked like all the weight was "all baby", but I could tell that my arms and legs were bigger too (and of course my boobies). By the time I was 6 months PG, everyone thought I was about to have the baby anytime. When I would tell them that I was only 6 months, they would ask if I was having twins!!! DH would laugh, of course. But, I lost 35lbs the day she was born. Now, I just need to work on the rest.
Kila replied: Thanks for the supprot guys I REALLY appreciate it. I know it's going to be worth it. My bf is making it easy on me. He says and does all of the things that he should. It's just such a shock to get used to in such a short amount of time. My only concern is that my body (particularly my boobs ) won't bounce back. My coworker says that the scars from childbirth and breastfeeding are the best "battle scars" anyone could possibly ask for. Thanks again!
