Toilet paper gender differences?
BabyOwen427 wrote: Ok, my mom and I have been talking about toilet paper and how our DH's want it. When I put the new toilet paper roll on the holder I usually don't care which direction the roll is going but my DH always wants it to unroll out towards the toilet. My mom likes it to unroll towards the wall and her DH likes it to unroll towards the toilet. My mom said it is a man thing to want it to unroll towards the toilet. So what I was wondering... is it a man/woman thing to want the toilet paper to unroll a certain way? How do you like it? How does your DH/DW like it? I know wierd topic but that is the current conversation piece in our house So help us solve this delima, is it a gender thing?
zdk753 replied: Around here we don't care which way it unrolls as long as we have some.
Calimama replied: I really don't care either way.
BabyOwen427 replied: That's what I say, but apparently the men in my family have toiletry issues!! Go figure!
paradisemommy replied: i'm an "over" gal myself..drives me nuts when it's "under" cause you can't find where it starts..
gr33n3y3z replied: same here
sparkys2boys replied: Have never really given this much thought..lol.. sooo I guess we dont care one way or another in or house.
amymom replied: me too! It has to face the toilet so to speak. I always change it if someone puts it on the other way. My DH & kids just do it the 'right' way, so I am unsure if there is a conflict.
But! I am always tempted to change it when I am visiting others
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I just roll it til the loose ends appears.
I'm just happy my dh replaces the roll when it's done, who the heck cares which way it unrolls? lol
Our Lil' Family replied: Thankfully we are both OVER people. My old boss was an under man and every time he had changed the roll I'd change it to OVER....I wonder if it ever made him mad? He never changed it back!
amynicole21 replied: Exactly. I'm REALLY picky about this
TheOaf66 replied: I guess it makes more sense if it unrolls over the top, it seems easier to tear off.
MyBlueEyedBabies replied: We are both over people here.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I hate it when it's backwards! I always have to fix it if someone has put it on with it coming out under instead of over.... even when I'm at someone else's house. I didn't even know that anyone actually preferred it the other way.
coasterqueen replied: Same here.
3xsthefun replied: We don't really care which way it rolls.
lisar replied: My house. I am the only one who seems to be able to change it so they dont get a choice, its however I put it on and I dont pay attention to know.
redchief replied: Over the top... when it's not just sitting atop the empty former roll.
lesliesmom replied: Before DH and I got married I didn't care. Now, because of him, it HAS to be over. I can't stand it under, you always lose that starting piece. BUT, for the kid's bathroom I put it under. It seems to be more difficult to watch the roll unwind and go down the toilet in one flush when they are playing in there.
HuskerMom replied: I don't care either way as long as there's some in there. My BIL will fold the end to make a triangle like in a hotel. Don't know why
MoonMama replied:
DH could care less as long as he has it....However he has yet to put a new roll on ever in his life, even when its sitting right there! He'll use it and set it right back on the counter. Drives me nuts!
MoonMama replied: I'm guilty of the same thing!
BabyOwen427 replied: Oh, I am sooo glad my family is not the only ones who have discussions about toilet paper directon. DH will actually scold me for putting it on the wrong way.
luvmykids replied: Ditto. As for men, I personally don't know a single one who has ever actually put the roll on so I don't know why they think they're entitled to a preference
kimberley replied: mine has to be rolling over.. not under. i prefer it that way but also, our roll holders are a bit of a reach from the toilet so putting it backwards means a further reach and more "drips" for me to clean up
dh didn't care either way nor did he ever change them.

I can't stand it when it's over. I don't know why but that's just how I like it, under I guess. Towards the wall. I think one of the reasons is cuz when I was younger my mom had a daycare and the kids would always leave a huge toilet paper mess whenever it was over.. Hmm.. I didn't realize so many people disliked that! LOL you guys don't wanna use MY bathroom
