Toddlers and the movies

Mandasmomma wrote: Just wondering....we take Amanda to the movies...and this week we brought her and we were charged for her for the first time. I'm not sure if the kid didn't know he wasn't supposed to charge her or what - but with not feeling well, I didn't argue, I just paid!! wacko.gif

Kirstenmumof3 replied: thumb.gif I haven't taken Claudia yet, but both Emily and Spencer were around 2 when we took them to there first movie. My mom and sister are fighting over who gets to take her to see The Heffalump Movie. Dh took Emily to see Disney's Hercules and about halfway through the movie she stuck a popcorn kernal up her nose. I took Spencer to see Toy Story 2 and when it was over he went running up to the front of the theatre and his overalls fell down around his ankles. Of course I didn't know what was going on and heard these 2 older ladies laughing and saying how cute he was. Yup my little streaker! laugh.gif

Mandasmomma replied: lol....I could see the streaker now!!

Manda has been really good each time....today she had a date with Daddy since I am sick - they of course, went to the movies again.

Josie83 replied: Cassie's a really good girl at the pictures, we don't take her very often but when we do she is the perfect angel.gif She sits there mesmerised from start to finished wub.gif She's the same if we take her to see plays that Jason and I are in at our schools wub.gif xx

ian'smommy replied: I haven't ventured out to the movies with Ian yet. He sits well at home during movies, but I am afriad that if he has no choice but to sit through the whole thing, that he won't want to. it's a lot of money to find out that he won't sit through it. smile.gif
I don't go to the movies a lot myself. We might take him for his birthday in July. We'll have to see......

Boys r us replied: We take Braedon to the movies all of the time! He loves to go and when we take him we do pay for his ticket..after all, he is taking up a seat!

Mandasmomma replied: I dont mind paying for her ticket - it is just that in we were only charged for her once, at a different theater then we usually go to.

chloe&tysmommy replied: good question! I voted No b/c I know for a fact Chloe would not sit unless it was a strawberry shortcake movie rolleyes.gif

We took her to the see the circus last week and I thought she would love seeing all the animals and acts but she hated it so I had to walk around with her...I guess she's still too small

MommyToAshley replied:
ohmy.gif OMG! I hope the popcorm kernel came out easily!

Both those stories are cute and funny! laugh.gif rolling_smile.gif

We haven't taken Ashley to the movies yet. She really doesn't sit still for a full movie or tv show here, she'd rather be doing something. So, we thought we would wait until she was a little older.

ediep replied: we haven't taken Jason to the movies yet, I don't think he'll sit unless its a Barney movie. I think we'll wait until he's a little older

freebird replied: I took my kids to see Shrek 2 when it was at the movies & neither one got charged. I think it's because they were both under 5 years old. I just had to pay for myself. They had a great time & I was surprised that they both sat still through the whole movie. thumb.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I haven't taken Jade to the movies yet. I keep saying that I am going to, but it hasn't happened. She usually doesn't sit through a whole movie at home so I'm not sure she will there. She's too busy to sit for long. One of these days I am going to take her to a matenee.

Boys r us replied: I just wanted to add that braedon doesn't sit still for anything, not even to eat..but amazingly enough he's intrigued by being at the movies and he will sit through them very well!! We take his little booster seat with us b/c without it his butt won't hold the seat down emlaugh.gif I think you ladies should give it a try..there are some really good movies that are out/coming out soon..Robots was great and Madagascar is supposed to be amazing..if they don't sit through it and you end up having to leave...so you wasted $5 on a matinee ticket for them..but it was worth a try so that they could experience something new!!! thumb.gif

ediep replied:
good point! I may try taking Jason next time somthing good comes out

commonmom replied: My husband has taken my 2year old to the movies twice that I know of but I havent been to the movies since I was preggie with my oldest child.

Im sure it would be fine as long as it was a kids movie. however I seem to remember in door movies being so loud but I imagine the kids would fall asleep before the movie starts at the drive in. But a childs first movie is very memorable, and any activity done together is time well spent!

mommy2owen replied: We started taking Alyssa to the movies when she was around 2 and paid the child's price.

macsmom2003 replied: we have been taking mac to the movies with us since she was 2 mos old she has been to lord of the rings 3, harry potter 3 at midnight ya ya i promised my 8 yr old neice when hp2 came out that i would take here to hp3 when it came out to the first show at midnight. oceans 12 gosh a bunch more just can't think of them all. she is always the perfect angel.gif and since she has always breastfeed on demand and has refused to ever take a bottle we didn't have alot of choice's not that i would have left her if she had.... wub.gif
