Toddler poop question (warning, TMI)

She was sick several weeks ago with a cold, but that was it. I put a call into the doctor's office to see if they think I should be concerned.

MommyToAshley replied: I've never seen white either. Ashley's experienced all kinds of colors and smells, but never white. Let us know what your Ped says.

Well I talked to the nurse and she didn't think it was anything to be concerned about. She said she probably ate something other than food and I just wasn't paying attention. Don't know WHAT she was insinuating but oh well. I guess it's possible. Or it could have been something she got into at the dcp. I'll talk to her tonight.

The nurse said she'd talk to the doctor and if there was any concern on his part she'd call me back.

So I guess I'll just wait to see if I hear from them and I'll continue to monitor it. I would consider that it was playdough because I've caught her eating it before, lol, but she hasn't had white playdough in a long time. She only has black, red, blue and yellow playdough right now.

ediep replied: Jason has had light colored poops when he has had a stomach bug....mostly following bouts of diarreah.

coasterqueen replied: My friend did some searches online last night and had me scared half to death. I couldn't sleep for anything.

I talked to the doctor this morning and he said as long as it was a one time thing no need to worry. He said if it starts happening more times, if the whites of her eyes start to yellow or she starts peeing a coca cola color then I need to get her in IMMEDIATELY because then it's a serious issue.

Yeah, that made me feel better . So I guess we'll just monitor her for now. Oh great, I'm going to be checking the whites of her eyes every 5 seconds now.

Sometimes the internet can be a scarey thing! There's almost too much information available and some of it is frightening. And, your doctor's comments probably didn't help either. Although, I think he was trying to reassure you.

Has she had any more white poops? How is she feeling?

It sounds like it was just a stomach bug or something she ate, but I know that won't keep you from worrying. But, try to relax a little.

Thanks. She hasn't had anymore, but she had numerous runny poo's yesterday. Weird. She feels perfectly fine though. Who knows. We'll just continue to monitor her and her eyes just to make sure.
