Today was the day

Maddie&EthansMom wrote: that I decided I would clean out the kids closets and drawers to get rid of their clothes that no longer fit. Well, basically I HAD to do it so they would have a place to put their clothes away...the ones that I fold and never put away...yeah, those. There is a reason I don't put them away. laugh.gif However, I didn't get very far before I had to pick up the kids, do homework, start dinner blahblah.gif You are all aware of the mess this "clean out" makes, right? Clothes were everywhere!!! I had piles of 'giveaway to friends' clothes, piles of clean clothes, piles of goodwill clothes and piles of dirty clothes. wacko.gif Piles that needed folding, piles that needed hanging.....

Today was also the day that my husband decides to call at 6 pm and say "Are you up for visitors tonight?" huh.gif Ummmmm...NO! His cousin will be here at 9 p.m. and will be staying the night!! Good thing my house was pretty much clean and dinner was already in the oven. I had to clean the bathroom and go into overdrive to get the kids rooms straightened up and all those clothes put away. Maddie helped a lot. My kids ate dinner really late, but they still got in bed by 8:30. thumb.gif

Now I'm sitting here on the computer, waiting for hubby to come home and for his cousin to show up. happy.gif But, I still haven't had a shower today. unsure.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OOO I HATE that it seriously makes me nuts but at least your dh calls mine does not, he tells me usually right before they arrive or afterwords when I think company just showed up on a weekday without calling blink.gif wacko.gif blink.gif Oh btw I haven't showered yet and since I didn't do ANYTHING today I'm going to wait and shower in the morning emlaugh.gif blush.gif so don't feel bad tongue.gif I hope you enjoy your company!!! thumb.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: laugh.gif Well, my DH is more concerned with how the house looks than I am. That's the only reason he calls. wink.gif

Jamison'smama replied: Oh man!!

Going through clothes is my biggest mess. I cannot seem to get that organized---what will fit next year, what to give away, etc. etc.

I am on ebay finding clothes for Jama and Jack for next summer/winter so feel to send your leftovers my way wink.gif

A&A'smommy replied:
lol thats good I think laugh.gif

3xsthefun replied: Ugh! I hate days like that!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Oh wow Aimee, sounds like A LOT! Hope the cousin has a good visit and you get some time to relax when it's all over. hug.gif

luvmykids replied:
OK I am ROFL because this is so my house emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif emlaugh.gif

DH likes to pull that on me too....awhile back he called and said he was stopping at the store, which is totally bizarre b/c he NEVER does that, when I asked why he said "My grandma is on her way for dinner" blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

mckayleesmom replied: OOH...I wish I lived by you...I love hand me downs/

Our Lil' Family replied:
what size would that be??? biggrin.gif Although I bet E & T are in the same size...

grandma replied:
lol - Wow what a great day you decided to do heavy duty cleaning huh?
Husbands - gotta love em..... rolling_smile.gif
There's nothing like Texas hospitality!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: He left early this morning to go down to E. TX to visit with their aunt before going to the hospital to visit Scotty's dad. happy.gif

luvmykids replied: How is Scotty's dad? hug.gif

sparkys2boys replied: Oh man I seriously hate when that happens, or even worse you don't get the call ahead of time and company shows up unannounced and your cleaning..lol. who the heck doesn't call ahead blink.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: wouldn't you know... someone is bound to drop in once you start a big prject like closets laugh.gif

Glad you got some stuff checked off your to do list!

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
He isn't doing well at all. He is now in a rehab hospital. I'm not exactly sure what they are going to rehab b/c he's really way past that point physically and mentally. He's been there since Saturday and will be there a max of 10 days before we move him to a nursing home. He's deteriorating very quickly. He's fighting everyone. I lost count of the nurses and doctors that he has punched. He won't stay still. He can only move his right arm and his head. I have a feeling they will tie down the right arm really soon. His right leg is tied down (his left side is paralyzed) but he can still kick the right leg against the footboard and make this awful noise. He pulls out IVs and his oxygen thing in his nose constantly. Sunday when we were up there he was sideways in the bed trying to get his head wedged in between the bars on his bed. And most of the time he's fully exposed himself by pulling the covers off. And he has a roommate that gets frequent visitors. He's a very very very difficult man, can you tell??? Scotty could use lots of prayer. He's handling it better than I would, but I feel so bad for him. I could probably use prayer, too. I can't stand the man and it's not easy consoling DH when I have no compassion for his father, kwim?

luvmykids replied: I'm sorry, it's hard enough under good conditions but the state he is in makes it so much worse sleep.gif Still praying for all of you guys hug.gif hug.gif

Calimama replied: Those are the projects I need to tackle as well. wacko.gif

Boys r us replied: Well Aimee..you just reminded me why I only THINK about doing my kid's closets!! LOL

Hey..you got it done! WHEW HEW!! WTG! I actually clean better when I'm p*ssed!
So DH calling to tell me he was bring company home would have set me into a tissy..which in turn would have gotten the stuff done much quicker than if I was left to my own motivation!! LOL

I'll be thinking of Scotty, sounds like he has a lot on his plate with his dad not doing well!
