Time for yourself.

holley79 wrote: What is one thing you do daily for yourself?

Every night after Annika (no matter what time I finally get her down.) is in bed I snuggle under my favorite quilt, have a cup of hot decaf tea and read my book. happy.gif

stella6979 replied: Hmmmmm....when Avery goes down for her nap, I will usually sit outside in our swing and read a book or paint my toes. I also use that time to catch up on the many shows that I DVR. emlaugh.gif

TheOaf66 replied: since sunday, every night I sit out on my deck and enjoy a cold beer

that is about all I get to do for myself.

skinkybaby replied: At the kids' nap time I sit on the couch, watch General Hospital and get online. The only thing missing is the bonbons!

Danalana replied: Honestly, I haven't been doing anything for myself...that I can think of, anyway. I should probably try to do that. But Kade is napping, so maybe I can go work in a shower!

MoonMama replied: I do get a mani/pedi every 2 weeks. But as far as daily....I'm honestly not sure. unsure.gif

Boys r us replied: I learned a long time ago, if I don't do things for myself..I'll be waiting awhile for others to do them for me! So I do not have a shortage of things I do for me!

Every night rick and I sit out on the porch and have a drink, some nights just sweet tea, some nights wine, some nights a mixed drink or beer. but once the kids are in bed..we go outside and snuggle and have some down time.

I also go somewhere by myself everyday..usually just to the grocery store for some milk or bread or something that we don't really need..but it's my me time for 15 minutes.

coasterqueen replied: Daily? Wow, I'm not sure I take time just for myself, daily. When the kids are in bed I like to take time for my husband and me - so to me that's doing something for ME daily. I do, however, like to do crossword puzzles, and if Dh and I are just sitting, watching tv and talking I'll do them. I do other stuff to take time for myself often, but not daily.

stella6979 replied:
Oh yes, Jeff and I play yahtzee just about every night. He got me hooked, but I always have to have a glass of wine or two in order to play. emlaugh.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: Since my DH works nights the time after the girls are in bed and before I go to bed is always 'me' time. I do a lot of my cleaning then, but I also spend time reading, playing games on the computer, watching TV - whatever I feel like that day. Weekends are different because DH is home, but I always manage to have time to do something I enjoy somewhere in there.

Calimama replied: Every night DH and I lay in bed and watch a DVD and talk. My best friend and I usually go for a walk in the mornings while it's peaceful.

Celestrina replied:
Aahhh, DVR. I don't know how I ever got along without it. happy.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: Me time? Um...I'll get back to you when I remember what that is. laugh.gif

holley79 replied: DH has to go to bed so early because he gets up so early so weekends after Annika is in bed it's "us" time and I so look forward to that. He has an hour before he picks her up from day care so he gets "me" time as well.

It helps me to relax at the end of the day. happy.gif

I also get a mani/ pedi every two weeks. Usually Annika is with me though and she gets her "pedicure" also. She is so cute in the pedi chair with her feet in the water. emlaugh.gif

Calimama replied:
Aw how cute. I can't wait until Bella is a little older to do that. She loves getting her toes painted at home!!

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I take a lot of time for myself. I need it. I like to be alone and I like "quiet time." So, I go to the gym for a couple of hours everyday. I read a lot, work sudoku puzzles, search the internet....

I get my nails done about once a month and my hair at least once every few months. I do not consider this "me time." Although it is sort of time away. It's just not relaxing to me. tongue.gif

holley79 replied: My time away is my 30 minutes after work at Curves. I skip my lunch time at work and get off a little earlier so it doesn't put me home late. It makes me feel great afterwards then it's "Annika time". emlaugh.gif

Oh it's super cute and the lady always paints her toenails for her. Thank God there isn't a charge for her yet. emlaugh.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: I don't get any "me" time daily, or weekly either. I'm going to try this weekend though. I need to practice my knitting skills!

ZandersMama replied: ummm most days i manage to get a shower blush.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: There is nothing that I do for myself daily. DH has been working long hours, and although we have family close by, I still am on my own with the kids for long periods of time. I do get things in for myself on a weekly basis though....I go to the gym at least 3-4 times a week. The kids come with, so I'm not totally on my own, but they go in daycare and I get that outlet. I also drop the boys off at my parents every Thursday afternoon for about three hours. This is "me" time, but unfortunately it's really the only time I can get some shopping done, like trips to Costco and groceries. Last Thursday I actually skipped the Costco trip and went and bought myself a bikini and new top instead...I felt I needed a real "me" break and it had been months since I bought something for myself. That felt good! I also try to give myself a pedicure every couple weeks when DH is home or Wesley is napping. When DH is home early enough, like last night, we actually got the boys down and snuggled on the couch together watching CSI. If I find a good book, I do try and read at night when the boys are asleep, but I've been too tired lately. snooze.gif

holley79 replied: "Mommy Mental Health" days are a must. emlaugh.gif I have a Summer Crop i'm going to at the end of this month. They are from 8 am till Midnight. I am so excited. Shawn already has plans with Annika when he gets off work Friday and what they are going to do that Saturday. happy.gif

stella6979 replied:
Oh, I so agree. Jeff and I play softball every Sunday which I consider my Mommy Mental Health days. Avery always comes with us, but the Grandparents come too and let her play at the park.

holley79 replied:
That's awesome. Before my car accident Shawn and I use to play on a co- ed team. We had a blast.

stella6979 replied:
It's how we met and I'm pretty sure we'll be playing til the day we die. emlaugh.gif

A&A'smommy replied: ummm I get a shower most days and I try to blow dry my hair (cause it makes me feel good) but other than that I usually have a kid attached to me. I do look forward to when Autumn is a little older so I can go have some mommy time

moped replied: I surf the net

I have a bath

I go out shopping sometimes

I do whatever I want, they are in bed at 7 sharp!!
