Those with little girls in cheerleading?
mckayleesmom wrote: I notice they have cheerleading for 4 year olds through the rec center......Its 40 dollars.......Im sure with inititial uniform costs and such...
My question is....who do they cheer for? and do you have to travel alot to different places?
luvmykids replied: My girls don't do it but the rec cheerleading program here does little performances at high school games and at our minor league hockey and baseball games.
Jackie012007 replied: we have what is called Pop Warner here, for younger girls. I was in it and coached it for a little while after I graduated from HS. They cheer at the pop warner football games, which is the football team for little boys. Not a whole lot of traveling outside of the surrounding cities, and its A LOT of fun!
mckayleesmom replied: that is what it is here.....pop warner.
Anthony275 replied: wouldnt they freeze at the hockey games?!
MommyToAshley replied: I think it depends on the venue. We did cheerleading through a church program so they cheered for the basketball team. They actually cheered for both teams. There's more competitive cheerleading through the place that she takes gymnastics, where they do competitions, but that's not something I want for Ashley right now.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Maddie cheered for her school. Some football games, but mostly basketball games. She was very active last year, but got really bored with it this year for some reason. I think b/c it was mostly younger girls this year. I'm so glad I didn't buy her a new uniform. They were $70
luvmykids replied: No, they wear regular clothes and just change into their cheer outfits for the performance
kit_kats_mom replied: The gym that our girls go to has a cheerleading league. They have a few different levels but the smaller ones only do day competitions. The older ones go on the overnights to compete.
Calimama replied: That sounds so cute!
My3LilMonkeys replied: The one we have here cheers for the Jr. football teams. It is sooo cute to watch (my nephews both play). They don't start til 5 though - poor Brooke has been waiting 2 years and can't do it until next year.
lovemy2 replied: That is kinda what Olivia is doing this summer we have two leagues here - one is Pop Warner the other is a private league which feeds to the middle schools/high schools - it is broken up by where they kids go based on where they live in the town - but its the same concept as Pop Warner but a much better organization...
Kaitlin'smom replied: dito to what Dee Dee said, it was so cute watchign the girls cheer for the basketball teems. all games and practices were held at the church.
