Those who Facebook.... - Have you heard this?

I was surprised to read this article this morning. The article does contain the photo which does show the top of her breast BUT honestly no more than I have seen on many TV shows on MTV and the like. What do ya'll think?
A&A'smommy replied: kinda makes me want to upload pictures of me breastfeeding autumn thats so ridiculous and doesn't even look like she was taking a picture of herself breastfeeding it looks like she might have been slightly bored and took a fb picture of herself I'm going to look for the group now!!
jem0622 replied: yup...heard all about it. i don't have many pics of myself nursing. one of my girlfriends did and put a pic of herself up there in protest. so stupid!
CantWait replied: I read an article and CTV (a Canadian news site) yesterday in which they explained it. Here's the link.
CTV news
After reading it, it makes some sense and I sort of agree. I have also seen the group, and there are still many, many pictures up, tasteful bf'ing pictures, and IMHO there ARE tasteless bf'ing pictures which I think is what FB is trying to avoid. I air on the side of caution, I'd rather my kids see no nudity, than something I wouldn't want them to see.
Insanemomof3 replied: You know this is crazy. That photo is IN NO WAY obscene. It is no worse than half the women in this world that dress and show their boobs to everyone on the street!!!! Why can't a pic like that be up, if we can go out in public without covering ourselves? GRRR Just irritates me.
PrairieMom replied: I don't see a problem with it, BUT they have a right to impose rules on thier own site. I do think that by prohibiting it they are asking for trouble tho, it will prompt other avid Bf moms to try to "make a point" on the site. and post more and more BF pics.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I have said before that I breastfed Tay for an extended period (til she was 2) BUT I do not advocate just barring all in public I don't want my child, husband, brothers, etc to be exposed to a naked breast anywhere and everywhere because I do believe that a breast is a breast.... baby attached or not However, I do not feel like this picture is obsene at all. I agree that they can make rules as they wish but I have seen alot more skin shown on my 14 year old niece's friend's page
Kirstenmumof3 replied: That is just so infuriating! Why is it wrong? I have seen a lot worse on facebook! My aunt sent me a poster of a naked guy, he was turned around, but you could still see his butt!
A&A'smommy replied: I found it and joined but I agree I don't see anything wrong with that picture and I am all for rules and stuff but I agree I have seen a LOT worse on FB
ZandersMama replied: that makes me so angry
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I don't know, while that picture isn't all that bad I guess, I don't like seeing pictures of peoples boobs, even if you can only see part of it and there is a baby attached. I just don't want to see it.
Danalana replied: I haven't seen much obscenity on Facebook (except some of the flair), but Myspace is a whole new ballgame. I have stumbled upon what might as well be pornography...women half-dressed in all of their pictures. And when I say "half-dressed", I am being generous. I am really shy about my body, but I don't mind in the least if other people want to put up pictures of themselves nursing their babies. I think it's a beautiful thing, but it DOES need to be discreet. Boys are boys, and exposed female parts aren't a great idea for all to see.
luvbug00 replied: you can see her the skin of her nipple! is everyone missing this except me? look on most websites that are public domiain ( myspace, facebook etc...) and you see moms breastfeeding and that's fine but all you see is the back of a babies head and the skin of the breast not the nipple. They allow no nudity and i would put money on showing any portion of a female nipple is classified as nudity. Thier site, their rules, don't like it, don't join.
Boo&BugsMom replied: I agree with RoosMama.
I am all for breastfeeding...but to be honest...I really don't want to look at a picture of someone whipping it out and doing it. When I breastfed Aiden I never even wanted other people in the room with me , because I know there are many people who just feel uncomfortable with someone exposing themselves like that. If she had a breastfeeding wrap on to cover the breast, then I'd be fine with it. Many people I know cover up with those and nobody even gives it a second thought. While the pic is not out of taste and I hardly would call it pornography...I still do not want to see someone else's boobies! Some people just don't get that you can be pro-breastfeeding and not want to see someone's boobies at the same time!
Danalana replied: ^^I agree, and the pic did show a little more than most would show.
jacobsmama replied: I didn't realize at first glance how much you really can see...
