Those approaching the 3rd birthday...

MommyToAshley wrote: have you thought about a present yet? I hadn't given it much thought, but Ashley keeps reminding me that her birthday is coming up soon. She wants a red and purple balloon. rolling_smile.gif

I can't believe she remembers her 2nd birthday. She talks about having a Barney party and Barney on her cake. And, she remembers the sand box. laugh.gif

It's so hard to believe that she will be 3 this fall... so I guess I should start thinking about a present. What are you doing?

~Roo'sMama~ replied:
Lol well she sounds easy to please! rolling_smile.gif I'll bet she'll be happy with whatever go get her. smile.gif

ediep replied: oh, good question. I have no idea about a gift or a theme for the party yet. I'll be thinking about it all summer

coasterqueen replied: laugh.gif Kylie has been reminding me too. rolleyes.gif She wants a Strawberry Shortcake theme. tongue.gif DH is already in the process of renting a suite at Busch stadium like we've done the past 2 years. No kids her age that we know so no kiddie party sad.gif

I really want to get her a playhouse for her playground area. DH doesn't want to unless I can find a used one, but I can't seem to find a used one I like. dry.gif She still has a TON of toys so I really don't wasnt to get her anymore. Besides I'm sure the family will get her enough of them. tongue.gif

mom2lilnick replied: Wow, I can't believe she remebers her second birthday either, what a good memory she has!

We still have 6 month before Nick turns three, so I have no idea.

Kaitlin'smom replied: well I am much further off but I am thinking sheesh once Ashley is 3 it wond be long before Kait is ohmy.gif it seems so far away for me but some how so close. I am sure she will LOVE what ever she gets.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm not really sure what we are going to do. If it all works out the way we want it We will be leaving here on Sept. 1st. Jade's b-day is on Aug. 30. We may have something small, but we would have shipped all of our stuff by then.

aspenblue1 replied: I have not even though about it yet. I am not sure what we are going to do.

5littleladies replied: I haven't really thought about it yet. blush.gif For all we know Alyssa will be born on Brianna's birthday so I will probably be planning something very simple and flexible. As for her gift-My kids get lots of stuff from our family and friends so we will probably just get her one medium size gift. I have no idea what though. rolleyes.gif

stanleygirl replied: Kieran will be 3 in August and I am thinking of taking him with a few friends to the zoo, where they actually arrange parties for you.
For his family party (we always have 2 bc we have a really big family) we are doing a Blue's Clue's theme.

I think this year we are getting him a playdoh activity table, and a pair of walkie-talkies.

3_call_me_mama replied: cameron remembers his 2nd birthday too! he talks about his lion cake all the time! I think we are doing a train theme this year, cause he's really into trains right now, but NO CLUE FOR A GIFT IDEA! But we have until Nov.

Jamison'smama replied: I am thinking about an Easy Bake Oven as one of her gifts. No idea what the theme will be--she changes her mind about what she likes every day.

mummy2girls replied: Im goign to do a strawberry shortcake theme:) and i want to get her a play kitchen and a toddler bed and bedding to go with it:) So time to save up:))

Im going to have it at my house i think..just invite my family anf grant and aidan. Aron can do one with his famiy!

b&bsmom replied: my son will turn 3 in sept and we are torn what to get as a present. the theme is easy. He loves bowling (yes he bowls in a league with his older sister ) so I will do a bowling cake for the family party. We want to get him a bike but being his bday is in sept he won't get much time to play with the bike and i would like him to have one for this summer. Not sure what to get him other than that. I am working on gettinga bowling shirt but I know that doesn't help you. I believe for my daughters 3rd birthday we got her a bike but her birthday is in Jun. One year we had our parents chip in to get the jungle gym we have outside. What kind of things does she like. Sounds like you can do something simple and she will be thrilled. Good luck. ( don't think i helped much)

paradisemommy replied: taven seems to totally be getting into darth vader - he keeps telling me he wants one of those costumes that have the face masks that you put over your head so i figured i'd get him that and kill 2 birds with one stone - his birthday is july 27th so he'll have lots of time to play in his costume and then he can use it to go trick-or-treating!!!

we'll probably just end up going to chuck-e-cheese for his birthay - it's only family (and keoki's at that)..mine is all in washington state and florida - the only problem will be timing since skyler is due probably around the 20th (c-sect)..smile.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
LOL!!!!! Oh man him too. Everytime Jade sees Vader on the tv she says Mommy Garth Vader. She even does the heavy breathing. Playschool makes this really cute version of him. I got one for Jade, she sleeps with it. Yes I am a Darth Vader fan myself, but I never figured my child would be so funny about it. LOL!!!!

~KARA~ replied: Maddi will be 3 in about 2 weeks so Im alil farther haead of most of you!
I have all her bday gifts bought! and she is having a Dora Cake.

She has alot of toys already and my mom goes nuts buying for the kids so we didnt get her much.
She wanted a basket for her bike, a new baby doll, a vacuum(to replace the one she broke a few months ago) and some of that new johnsons buddies bath stuff. She got everything she asked for plus a few other things I cant think of right now.
Her new baby doll fits in her bike basket so she can play babies while riding her bike!

ediep replied: I know that I already replied to this but I have been thinking about his birthday a lot lately. Last year I was so creative and did a puzzle party. I even cut the invitations into jigsaw puzzles so the guests had to abbemble them to read the info. I had puzzle decorations, puzzle cake, puzzle brownies....

Anyway, this year I am thinking of doing a kids party at a local indoor playplace. It is really cool there. We will occasionally go when they have open play. It costs $5 to play. The birthday party seems really neat too. On a saturday, it costs $275 for 15 kids, pizza, soda, music, balloons, favors, paper goods. The have free play time with the workers helping out, then they go in another room for lunch. (i would probabaly check out what the favors are like and if they are cheesy, I'll buy my own)

Then I was going to have a family party back at my house with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gift....Maybe one of those tiny bikes with training wheels. I saw a little boy in my neighborhood he was about 3 years old, and he was riding a bike with training wheels, It was very cute!!!

chloe&tysmommy replied: ugh don't remind me... tongue.gif Well.....this year I have 2 parties to plan within a couple months so that should be fun (July and Sept) rolleyes.gif

Last year we did an inexpensive flower/butterfly theme so this year we might do Dora or something. We always just have a big BBQ and invite our family and friends over. It's nice b/c there are quite a few kids that are her age that will be there...as for Tyler's birthday there won't be too many kids his age except his cousin who is 3 weeks older than him happy.gif I might do a sesame street theme for him happy.gif

Dh wants to buy the kids a John Deere Gator for their birthdays (her cousin has one and she loves it) - but of course Tyler is too small for that so I will buy him something different (I have no idea what wacko.gif ) I wanted to get Chloe the Barbie Jeep but it won't look to good once Tyler is old enough to drive it so we'll get the gator rolling_smile.gif
