This was unbelievable
luvbug00 wrote: So today i got off work early, and was planing to spend the evening with mya and the crew. I get to her nanas and her aunt is almost running out the door. She was on a mission. Her nana comes at me full force saying "u have to talk to Mya and then get up to that school". So i did.
Mya was in class she had to go potty. her teacher had her quiet time necklace on ( this means that it is teacher work time and she is not to be disterubed) Mya had to go potty and raised her hand. Her teacher pointed to the necklace implying that mya needed to just do her work. a while later another kid had to go and by this time mya was "hurting". the teacher let the kids go together but mya didn;t make iot to the bathroom and had an accident on herself. she had to spend the remainder of the day in wet pants and Niether brad nor I were called. She has spent most of the night crying.
I went into the school as soon as i heard of this. I spoke to the assistant principle and demanded that mya be removed from that teachers care. I also demanded mya's class be swiched and her teacher to say sorry to her. Mya hasn't wanted to go to school since she started this year, she said her teacher was mean. well I dont blame her! I told the school they eaither fix this or i am pulling mya and reporting them.
her teacher wrote brad and his mom an email. ( his mom because she picked up mya in that condition) but not to me. so right now This lady has her job in my hands and I'm NOT feeling merciful at all.
bluebear replied: omg...I would be livid!! They don't have bathrooms in the classrooms? You should tell her that if she has to go and the teacher won't let her go anywhere urgent, to just go no matter the consequence in the end.
the teacher answered to the other kid while it was "teacher time "?
luvbug00 replied: myas school has a travel in twos policy ( which was her lame excuse) she should have asked arround if anyone else had to go when mya raised her hand.
Oh and mya couldnt leave because she is outside in a trailer and i'm not ok with her being outside alone. otherwise i would have told her to just go, even if her teacher said no.
MoonMama replied: OMG Nadia I would have lost it!!!! I don't give a stink about any travel in twos crap, unless a child has a history of using needing to use the restroom and excuse to mess around or whatever, if she/he has to go they have to go and should be able to! And then to not call you or Brad and leave her in wet clothes all day! WTF?!?! OH I'm livid just reading this! Poor Mya!
Nina J replied: Thats awful, poor Mya. How could they let her stay in wet clothes all day, that is not right. She must've been so embarrassed and upset.
Hope it gets sorted out, I am sorry this happened
CantWait replied: Not cool at all. I'd be livid. I can only imagine how embarrassed Mya was to be sitting in wet clothes all day.
msoulz replied: Holy smokes, to say that is unacceptable is and understatement!! Poor Mya, I hope she can get beyond it quickly.
BAC'sMom replied: Poor Mya
My2Beauties replied: OMG I would be soooo livid girl, I would be doing the same thing you are.
Celestrina replied: I'm not sure which is worse - not letting her go to the bathroom or making her wear wet clothes. Not only is that cruel but VERY unsanitary. Everywhere she sat would come in contact with her wet clothes. If you feel comfortable with this, you might want to get the other kids' parents involved. I doubt they would want their kids exposed to something like that.
Calimama replied: That's awful. Poor Mya!
MommyToAshley replied: OMG, I don't blame your for being livid! That would be an understatement!
It's bad enough that the teacher caused her to have an accident, but then to not call you to bring her new clothing is inexcusable. The entire thing is inexcusable.
luvbug00 replied: we had a parent teacher meeting. the teacher will get away with just a slap on the wrist. she said she was sorry and dummy brad bought it. It was the MOST FAKE appology in the world. I have asked for another meeting because i believe the teacher needs disaplinary action. The teacher knows I'm "out for blood" too. I stared her down the entire meeting and told her to her face i didn't want her watching my child.
mummy2girls replied: and unfortunetly if anything like the school system here that not many principles do anything if the teacher have been under contract for a long time. marcus works in a junior high as a teachers aid and this school has programs for special needs kids. When he was an aid for a downs boy he was in a classroom where the teacher has been under the school board contract for over 20 years. She has senority. And she is one of the meanest teachers. such as... she will put down the teacher aids and bring them to tears many times. She had the kids ( all her kids have some kind of special needs) do a project in where they write down what goal they want to reach by the end of the year. this one boy who has global issues and other issues writes down "to get smart". this teacher walks up to him looks at his paper and says... nope that is not a reality your born with the brain you have, earase it! She wasnt reprimanded or anything. She was doing a class about how to protect yourself etc etc and walks up to this sweet girl and grabs her hair forcefully and pulls. the child yells OUCH! she said your not suppose to say that what your suppose to say is NO! All she got was a talking too... and thats because she has senority! DUMB!!!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Did she say why she didn't call you or Brad to bring new clothes?
I would almost -- I say almost because I would still have a hard time with it--- but, I would almost accept the apology for causing the accident. However, there's no excuse for having her go around all day with wet clothes.
A&A'smommy replied: wow poor mya!!!!
Unfortuantly a lot of times for something that small they can't do anything. When teachers have tenure it take a lot to be able to fire them. The basicly have to do something that will send them to jail to get them fired or to really be able to do anything to them. I do believe there should be other diciplinary actions available to principles...
I would be mad to and DEFINITELY have them move her to another room, Mya needs a teacher to be more caring and considerate to her students.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: OMG poor Mya! I hope you're able to get her moved to a different class. I can't believe they can't do anything to the teacher!
luvbug00 replied: they said since she agknolaged she was at fault she is basically just under close observation. Her excuse for not calling is that it was "almost time to go home" anyway (yea but she got to sit in wet undies for who knows really how long) .again, I've had issue with this school from day one.
mummy2girls replied: yup thats what marcus says as well because he works in the school board and such. it sucks because one of these days these teachers are goign to do something that will get the school sued...
youngmomofone replied: Poor girl, that had to been so humiliating. Shame on that teacher!!!!
Hugs to her and you
