This may sound silly to some but to dog lovers - it wont's could I get some p&pts

danahas4monkeys wrote: But I could use some positive thoughts, not for me for Elvis our dog! He isn't just a dog he's one of our kids we have had him for 7 years since he was 5weeks old. Last night we went to let him in for the night and he was no where to be found we called and called and Rick went out in the back yard and looked but it was dark and Elvis is dark so he didn't see him, he wasn't anywhere around the house or in it so I went walking down the alley and back toward the far left corner of our yard I heard an unmistakable snore/breathing pattern but I couldn't see him but it sounded like he was in the yard so I ran back around the house and went in the back yard with Andrew's little flashlight and there he was laying with his head in the corner not moving and breathing really fast he wouldn't respond and couldn't move wouldn't do anything Rick called the vet at 11pm and explained what he was like and she said it sounded like a seizure and that if it was it can take up to 24 hours for a dog to bounce back to normal to let him rest and if it happened again to take him to the doggie ER or bring him in this morning so Rick and I put him on a sheet and made a hammock like contraption to carry him in the house ( he is almost 90lbs after all) we layed him in the kitchen floor where it was cool and he didn't move for a long time I went to bed and Rick stayed up with him and he had another seizure at 3am. I got up at 7 and checked on him and he was just as peaceful as could be so I got Lexi ready for school and I thought I heard him walking and I went to see and he was staggering through the house bumping into things and falling down and very disoriented. So we took him to the vet and she checked him out and he never moved. She took blood and gave us seizure medicine and valium to help him relax during a seizure, so we came home and almost as soon as we walked in the door the vet called and said some of his initial blood work showed he was dehydrated, his WBC was elevated and he had some liver problems and she wanted us to bring him back so they could keep him overnight give him iv's and keep an eye on him. She said that while seizures can be common in boxers the fact that he is 7 and this is just happening that the cause probably isn't good. I have cried all day and night he is my baby I have had him longer than 2 of my babies. He is such a good dog all the kids have cried and while I am trying to console them I have no real answers other than we don't know. We did call and check on him and they said he is perking up some but the vet had to leave on a call so we still really don't know. So if you could spare a tiny prayer for my Elvis I'd really appreciate it! user posted image
