This is scary...

Now we can't even drink water.

luvbug00 replied: just great! what about pregnant woman drinking this water?! *loveingly holds brita filter*

gr33n3y3z replied: We saw this on the local news last night
And bottled water isnt safe bc for the most part they use the same water in those

punkeemunkee'smom replied: I saw it too. I honestly haven't decided what I am MORE concerned about yet though-
If we are drinking water that was just a short time ago waste water and since they are not able to remove drugs that were in people's bodies what other contaminents are still there. huh.gif unsure.gif What other illnesses are being spread to my family? What about illegal drugs?
Maybe this explains why everyone seems to get sick with the same viruses even when outside exposure is limited.
I am also even more concerned now about the ease of a biological attack on our water supply. Obviously our filtration systems are not what they have been being touted as.

sad.gif mad.gif sad.gif

grapfruit replied: *sigh* see all the more reason to get a Rain Soft system....

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I was trying to explain this months ago in the MRSA thread. Our water is NOT safe. It is so scary. There's not much that is safe these days, I guess. sleep.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hmmm. Maybe it's no wonder superviruses and superbacteria are rampant... we (well you) get so much in small dosages... the bugs are becoming resistant and mutating.

Yikes.

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
If the systems that the municipalities use to clean our drinking water don't do it then do you really think that a home kit (so to speak) will? I wish that I thought it would but I have major doubts! unsure.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I read this yesterday its SOO gross and crazy!!!!

mommy~to~a~bunch replied: mad.gif Nothing is safe anymore. There's nothing that will take that out of the water; it's there forever. And our kids & their kids & their kids will be drinking it.

austins mom replied: I saw this today. They say that it does not affect Fla. But who knows. It amazes me with the food recalls and stuff these days.

Boo&BugsMom replied: Drugs have been found and recorded in our drinking water for many years now, it just took this long to leak out. wink.gif I recently bought a filtration system just for this reason.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
What filtration system do you have? I read that none of th e filtration systems will get it out.

Boo&BugsMom replied:
It does filter them out by a percentage no matter what kind you get, it's just not 100% guaranteed. I'd rather get 90% of the harmful things out than nothing at all.

ETA: you CAN get a reverse osmosis system for around $200 that does the trick. But...it's a pretty penny I must say.

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:
Does it specifically say it filters out residual prescription drugs and hormones? Or just "impurities"?

coasterqueen replied:
Yep, same here. sleep.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
"Byproducts of drinking water infections" and it gives a list of about 45 different things, which I'm not typing out because the words are big. laugh.gif In all, it's better to have SOMETHING, than nothing at all. wink.gif

mommy~to~a~bunch replied:

So yours might not remove them either. It can remove the other harmful stuff, but can leave the drugs & such in there.

Crystalina replied: I don't drink tap water...fish have sex in it. emlaugh.gif

I'm sure the bottles are far less better. rolleyes.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied:
The key words are don't necessarily avoid exposure...you will still get exposure, it's just not 100% going to get them out, and that goes for any contaminant. Like I said, having SOMETHING is better than NOTHING! I'd rather have a smaller percentage of it than a larger percentage going in my body.
