This day.....OMG

Boys r us wrote: What a DAY!!!!!!!!!!! OMG..first of all..I had the longest day of my life at work today! Just when it was about over at 3:15, Rick called me and said he'd been in a car accident. He's okay THANK GOD, but the car isn't! He was going through a subdivision going back to work from running an errand and this guy was behind him. Well Rick was going 30 mph b/c the sped limit was only 25mph and this guy behind him was getting irritated and riding on his tailgate the whole time. Then all of a sudden the guy whips around rick..mind you this is a two lane road with lots of hills and curves. When he got right beside Rick, he swerved his car over and swiped down the whole side of the car!!!!!!!!!!!!! Making Rick loose control of it. Then the guy took off. Luckily, Rick got his tag number off of his plates and called the police. While the police were there and Rick was in their car filing the report, they radioed back and said they were at the guys house, he wasn't there, but they talked to the neighbors and confirmed that he drove a black Ford Explorer...so they told Rick they'd go back tonight and pick the guy up for reckless driving and hit and run..well leaving the scene of an accident.
THANK GOODNESS that rick had time and enough sense to get his tag number b/c he was driving my old car, a mitsubishi montero(SUV) that we're currently trying to sell..well neither of us drive it on any kind of a regular basis b/c we both have other vehicles, so we only have liability insurance on it..so if they hadn't cought the guy, we'd have just been out of luck and had a totaled $10,000 car on our hands!

Anyhow, we're pretty sure it's totaled b/c they looked at it and said it looked as though the front of the frame was bent on the car and the drivers door is jammed shut and the back bumper is smashed and cracked and all of the way down the whole driver's side is just cremated all of the way to the front bumper and the mirror is knocked off.
But his insurance will have to pay for it to either be repaired, which I can't see..b/c if it costs half of what the car is worth to get it repaired, then they will declare it a total loss. Just the paint job alone b/c it's Black up top and tan around the bottom will cost 3k...not to mention all of the other parts and labor involved..even if the frame of the car isn't bent and the car is only worth about 10 k..so it would only take 5k worth of damage to total it.

So..it was a long day and we needed to just chill out and relax..we decided to go out to dinner and Rick and I always have this thing we do to one another when we've had a crappy day..we'll secretly tell the wait it's the other's birthday..just so we can have a good laugh!

WELLLLLLLL..we CERTAINLY got more than I bargained for when I snuck off and told them tonight!! The WHOLE restaurant staff ...cooks included..came out and they were banging drums and had tamberines going and the were screaming and haulering..they went all of the way around the whole restaurant collecting spectators, then showed up at our table....they put a piece of cake down in front of him and then he shot me a dirty look and THEN..they started singing happy birthday to him and they smashed a WHOLE PLATE FULL OF WHIPPED CREAM ALL OVER HIS FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMg..I was crying so hard...I had makup running into my eyes burning them..but I couldn't stop laughing..we all laughed until our stomachs were killing us!

I'm so glad he is OK. How scary to have an accident (can it really be called that?) like that happen. Smart thinking to get the tag # down. I would've been too freaked out! I hope they total it out for you though.
