They called me to pick up Maddie

Both eyes are red and she is complaining of itching in her left eye. I'm going to call the doctor in a minute and see what she says. It's a new ped...Maddie hasn't seen her before. I'm a little hesitant to call under these pretenses although I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

She also has a cough which leads me to believe she could have a cold in her eye. Her eyes weren't matted this morning, but they did have some sleep in the corners.

JP&KJMOM replied: If bright lights bother her then it is for sure pink eye. It is going around here too. From experience if she does have it and they give you drops beware cause the drops can burn when you put them in.

Hope she does just have a cold. Sending you NO PINK EYE VIBES!

punkeemunkee'smom replied: OH YUCK! Poor baby! We had a cold last year that went to our eyes. (me and Tay) it was nasty but no meds because it was a virus. At least with pink eye they give drops and it clears up quick...They used to have Neosporin eye drops that were awesome! They did not burn at all so ask your pedi if they still prescribe them. It spreads quick so if it is pink eye ask about treating Ethan (and you too) now! I hope she gets better quick!

I know pink eye is awful. I had it when I was in high school I also had a cold go along with it. When I had it at first my eye itched and felt like it had something in it.
I tried to tell my dad I had pink eye but he didn't believe me. So I ended up going to school, I asked all my friends what they thought and they said I had pink eye.
We even asked the principal to be sure and sure enough I did.

My grandpa had end up come and get me and then my mom took me to the doctor to confirm it. I stayed home for a week after they told me I had pink eye plus I was feeling bad from the cold I had.

I hope she is feeling better soon!

luvbug00 replied: poor baby@!! pick eye is the worst I hope she gets in and on the meds for a speedy recovery. ( make sure everyone in the house washes their hands contantly it stops the spreading and helps the recovery! )

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Poor Maddie! A friend's daughter had it recently while we were visiting and yes, she had a bad cough with it. Here eyes weren't necessarily pink, but had lots and lots of tearing...sorta goopy tears. They have lots of OTC meds for that, but I would definitely take her to the ped first.

5littleladies replied: I hope it isn't pink eye. That is no fun to deal with. When my daughter gets colds she gets them in her eyes-They get all red and itchy. I hope that is all that Maddie has.

amynicole21 replied: We've dealt with this a lot since Sophia was born It's really not that big a deal, but you do need to be careful since it's so contagious. In fact, I'm a little nervous that Nora has something... her eyes were goopy this morning, but not red. Ugh!

luvmykids replied: Mine get it here and there on a sort of regular basis, between the three of them someone has it every few months. Hope she doesn't and feels better soon!

Edward's Mommy replied: My brother had it once when he was a kid, got it from school. And now he's almost 19 and he gets it every other week and has to wear his glasses because he can't wear his contacts. (I'm sure you figured that out!)

But I hope she feels better!

My3LilMonkeys replied: Brooke has had it twice - my best advice is wash your hands a lot so you don't catch it! Also, if possible, try to keep the kids laying with seperate toys and wash the toys she plays with so it doesn't spead that way.

She has an appt tomorrow at 10 a.m. I am going to go ahead and get Ethan and I treated as well. I know I already have it. I feel it. I didn't catch hers in time to take action with the Clorox wipes. And Ethan won't stay away from her for nothing!
