There is a Young Man That Needs Some Prayers

He has Leukeamia and had a bone marrow transplant around the same time as Spencer. He developed fluid around his lungs and stomach and he also has pneumonia. He is on oxygen and they will probably be taking him down to the ICU. He is such a sweet young man and his mother is such a wonderful person. They have given Derek and experimental drug that came from Italy to help relieve the fluid around his lungs and stomach. Then the pressure from the fluid was too much for his body to take and they put a tube in to drain out the fluid, only nothing was coming out. The fluid has all been absorbed by his tissues. So they have to wait now and hope that this medication from Italy starts working. It's a very compicated situation and he is very criticle right now.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: I'm sorry to say that it isn't looking very good for Derek. We haven't seen his mother in the Parents Lounge for a few days and when she does come out of his room, it's only for a few minutes. We are planning to have a luncheon at the hospital for her, just to let her know how much we all care about her and her family! It's just so heartbreaking!
