The surgery went well

This is Jack before surgery

Jack came through getting tubes like a trooper. Very little fussing and was back to himself in just a couple of hours. He now has a terrible cold and "reactive airways" (asthma) he is on a steroid again with breathing treatments every 3-4 hours. At least is shouldn't turn into an ear infection...

amynicole21 replied: Yay! So glad it went well. How did he do last night with the fasting?

The only problem I'm having now is figuring out how to rinse Nora's head without getting water in her ears wacko.gif The stupid cotton balls keep falling out! rolleyes.gif

amynicole21 replied: By the way - could he be any cuter??? wub.gif

Jamison'smama replied: The surgery was actually on Friday and he did fine with the fast--he nursed for the last time around 1:30am (he could nurse until 4 hours prior). Then I got him up at 5:40 put him directly in the car, went to the surgery center and once there he played until surgery. It was much easier than I expected.

My doctor was not worried about him getting water in his ears--just not submerged. He said baths and showers and water poured over his head is fine--just don't go completely under water. Are they telling you not to even pour water on her head?

ediep replied: man, he is so so so cute!!!!

So glad the surgery went well.

amynicole21 replied: They told me to be careful for the first 2 weeks after surgery, then not to worry about it (even submersion is fine after 2 weeks). It really is bizarre how no one seems to agree on this stuff wacko.gif

Jamison'smama replied: Wow, so swimming is okay without earplugs? That would be great! I know there are different kinds of tubes but I'm sure there are differing opinions as well like you said. I would love to not have to be careful this summer!

A&A'smommy replied: awwwiee he is such a handsome little man!! I'm glad to hear it went well!! hug.gif hug.gif

amynicole21 replied: Nope, no ear plugs. He said there is no way we'd be able to keep them in anyway.

gr33n3y3z replied:
fold her ear over if poss. if not cup your hand like the do at the hair dressers on your ears so the water dont go in smile.gif

gr33n3y3z replied: I'm glad everything went so well wink.gif
