mckayleesmom wrote: I told LeaAnn about this the other day in an email..since I couldn't get on here? Guess how much it cost? I really thought that it was going to be around 10 grand....boy how wrong I was. Keep in mind that I have NOT gotten the room bill yet either...and yesterday they called to get dh's birthdate for another pathology bill.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: how can you owe nothing?? insurance?
luvmykids replied: At least someone has an insurance company that actually PAYS!!!!
C&K*s Mommie replied: 29 thousand dollars! WOW!
mckayleesmom replied: military insurance
The only thing we ever pay is 3.00 for perscriptions if we get them filled off post....which sometimes happens if they don't have the perscription on post.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: WOW!! That's some big moolah!!
More than likely that isn't the negotiated rate, though. I'm sure Tricare isn't going to pay that much.
mckayleesmom replied: it says that part has already been paid
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Wow! They must not negotiate much. Atleast it was covered 100% and you don't have to worry about it. AND you got new BB's out of the deal!
mckayleesmom replied: You know...I went to the ER about a week ago because I thought one of my stitches was open...and the lady told me that if it wasn't for me having scoliosis(sp?)..they probably would have turned me down.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: That makes NO sense to me!
mckayleesmom replied: because scoliosis does alot of damage to your back and having big knockers makes it worse....But I don't think thats true either because my scoliosis was never really questioned. Tricare is starting to pay for alot of elective plastic surgeries ....like breast implants
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh I see what you are saying. I just didnt' understand how they could turn you away!
I can't believe they are paying for implants!
mckayleesmom replied: and tummy tucks and stuff like that too.....Also, on some basis where they have plastic surgeons in training...you can sign up to be picked for them to practice a procedure on...
luvbug00 replied: note to self ... GET TRICARE!! C cup here I come!!!!
Brianne Glad you don't gotta pay a dime!
~~*Missi*~~ replied: WOW that is awesome thou that you don't have to cover those cost. I really think that EVERY country should have the same health care and prescription plans since well it would be easier for ALOT of people.
Like my mom is diabetic with a heart condition and my father just had a heart attack they filled thier prescriptions and it was 211 dollars for thier copays. That is crazy you know. OH well
Sorry rambling but so glad that you don't have to pay for that 29k thats a car LOL
I always like when the insurance sends itemized bills lol it makes me laugh what they charge for stuff.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Wow.
A&A'smommy replied: WOW thats a LOT thank goodness for military insurance HUH!!
holley79 replied: Is your back feeling any better yet???
luvmykids replied: Dang, wish I was military!
mckayleesmom replied: Not yet...because since they were lifted..that takes a toll on the back as well...And my right side is still really swollen and bruised feeling from that Lipo he was so generous to do.
Kaitlin'smom replied: WOW they do like to charge ALOT I remember telling my insurance company NOT ot pay some bills they go cause they were charging for service never done, and have you ever seen how much they charge for a band-aid? It horrible kinda makes you a bit understand why the insurance company wont pay for some things.
PrairieMom replied: I feel like I'm stepping in the line of fire a little bit here, but i have to say, The Men and women that are in the military sacrifice a lot for my freedoms. the very least we can do is make sure they and their familys are taken care of while they do it.
mckayleesmom replied: Thank You.....That is what Im trying to say...we might not have to take money we see out of our check to pay our insurance,,,but you better bet that it is taken out...The reason that we don't pay anything is because we also don't get an hourly wage....They cut things to make it that way...trust me.
coasterqueen replied: Oh, I know yours wasn't elective. I'm so glad you were able to get it done.
BTW this is to everyone, just something to consider when it comes to all taxpayers paying for insurance things..we ALL as taxpayers pay for those who choose to fill their lungs with smoke and for those of us who have to breath second hand smoke, we pay for those who choose to be obese when in fact they really don't have to be, we pay for those who choose not to live healthy lives, we pay for EVERYTHING....WE do. When they figure health insurance premiums rates it's based on your age group, at what common ages are those having babies, those who have health problems due to smoking or obesity. They just don't look at your general health and come up with a quote.
That's why I like some things about life insurance...at least they base a quote somewhat off whether you smoke or not.
jacobsmama replied: I agree. I hope you recover soon Brianne!
mckayleesmom replied: Karen...very true
~Roo'sMama~ replied: I'm glad you didn't have to pay anything for it, Brianne... I'm sure that if your insurance hadn't covered it it just would have been too impossible - that price tag is outrageous!
I hope your back feels better soon.
jacobsmama replied: I think it is completely different to have implants because you feel your boobs are too small but if you have serious problems like back pain or problems then you should be able to have this done. Just my opnion though.
