The reason for my earlier question - Sorry things went crazy here! LOL!

punkeemunkee'smom wrote: Today was Taylor's field day. It was a HUGE event in our house...Bill took off work and we were all so excited! (I will post pics!!!) Taylor was up in 8 events. She ran the 50 yard dash,100 yard dash,3 legged race, hurdles (they are only 10 inches high laugh.gif ),Soccer kick, Kangaroo jump race, and she placed FIRST thumb.gif in the bean bag toss! thumb.gif thumb.gif She got a ribbon in all the activities she was in and it was a GREAT day. It was hot here today so I understand that people were getting testy....ANYWAY time for her last event came-the woman in charge had been yelling at the kids all day and was wayyyy over the limit of her threshold by then. She started calling all the kids to line up-completely differently than they had been-they had been running in heats according to grade but she decided to line them ALL up in single file lines next to eachother for the long jump....The kids were all confused and it was pretty chaotic. She called first grade girls to line up RIGHT HERE and put her toe on the line. Taylor and 5 other girls her age came and started lining up across the line as they had done in all the other races. I watched her grab one little girls arm and move her behind the child to her left and say line up like this-well Taylor did not see her and was not understanding that there was even a problem with where she was so I was about to cross the sideline to help her line up when this woman palmed the top of her head and pushed her backwards to the back of the line while telling her to MOVE huh.gif My sweet daughter said Yes Ma'm I am sorry! Taylor is honestly one of the most complient children ever when it comes to other adults and I could tell by the look on her face that #1 it hurt her head and #2 she was about to bawl out of humiliation and hurt. So I crossed over the line to go to her and when I passed the teacher I said to the back of her head IT was TOTALLY uncalled for for you to touch her head that way. growl.gif (I wanted to snatch her hair out and pull her backwards!) I checked on Taylor and told her that this was what she came to do and Daddy and I were so proud of her! While I was walking back the woman looked at me and said WHAT did you say to me??? I looked her right in the eyes and said DO NOT EVER touch my daughter again!!! I paused just long enough to give her a chance to reply and walked away-the exchange would have been heard by nobody but the two of us....had she left it alone! wacko.gif blink.gif She let me get all the way off the field- a good 50 feet away from her- before she yelled at me WHAT did you say to me???? I turned around and said I told you not to touch my daughter in that way ever again! You did not have any right to push her! she yelled back did I want her job? and then said Taylor was bumping into her wacko.gif huh.gif I bet that 40 lbs was hard to handle (she is litterally almost 6 ft tall!) I replied that she is 6 and I don't care if she was jumping on her toes unless there was a fire nearby she better never lay a finger on my child again! growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif I was so angry but I really did remain calm...Taylor did her jump thumb.gif and we left-BIll was FUMING so it was best that way rolling_smile.gif Anywho I have received several phone calls that this woman was trying to find out who I was and is now trying to get me removed from the association we are in...I have also now learned that there have been issues with her pushing children or grabbing arms not to mention yelling, etc before today....I have also been told that her version and mine are totally different but everyone that has been talked to has backed me almost word for word and it looks like it will be her that leaves before it is us....I am just so dang angry that when we were having such an incredible day-this is how it ended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you made it this far thank you laugh.gif I am still shaking I am so mad! growl.gif Now if I end up getting asked to leave anyway I wish I had punched her! rolling_smile.gif

jem0622 replied: O....M.....G

Poor you and your poor girl too.

A very tense situation indeed.

More HUGS

luvmykids replied: WOW, I don't even know what to say! ohmy.gif growl.gif Have that woman call me, I will tell her how lucky she is that you did not punch her rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Lots of hugs to you and Tay, and hi fives to her for doing so well too! thumb.gif thumb.gif

MoonMama replied: OMGOSH! Abbie I am so sorry that you and Tay had to go through that. growl.gif bawling.gif hug.gif hug.gif I would be so livid I don't even know what to day. But I don't think that women would have a head anymore. growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif

Boys r us replied: Ohh..she's lucky it was you and not me!!!!

now..was this a school event or more of a rec club event? just trying to get a feel for what role this woman was..as in a teacher or what?

Kirstenmumof3 replied: thumb.gif Good for you! I'm so proud that you stood up to that woman! And WTG Taylor! thumb.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
We homeschool but this is the field day for the paid PE classes she takes. This woman is not Taylor's PE teacher but is a PE teacher in the association that we belong to, all the teachers in this association are board certified, paid instructors. So it is more of a school event. Taylor is taught by us that these adults are in charge and she is supposed (to be able) to respect them!

HuskerMom replied: What a horrible woman! Good for you for standing up to her! thumb.gif

A&A'smommy replied: OH MOMMA!!!!!!! I would have reacted the same way what she did was COMPLETLY uncalled for she is child and if the woman can't handle a bunch of kids then she does NOT need to be teacher. THAT is ridiculous!!!!!! growl.gif growl.gif growl.gif That makes me SOOOO ANGRY!!!!!! Poor Tay hug.gif hug.gif hug.gif

punkeemunkee'smom replied:
Thank you Kirsten! With the small amount of new info that Taylor just shared before bed time (how hard she applied pressure to Tay's head AND that she told her to zip it up and listen up and get to the end of the line ohmy.gif and then told her to do her best when she started to cry huh.gif ) I am leaning more and more toward a more physical reaction being called for-but in the long run I am sure I will be glad I held my temper!

Sam & Abby's Mom replied: wow. I'm sorry that happened to you guys. I'll never understand why some people without patience insist on dealing with kids! She needs to choose a different profession. Congrats to you for stating your mind but taking the higher road by staying calm and in control. Had you lost your cool, she'd definitely use that against you to back her side of the story. I hope the others who witnessed this back you to the end.

boyohboyohboy replied: if i were you , i would go after that woman, get her in trouble and get her fired..
it doesnt sound like it should be to hard..

gr33n3y3z replied: Keep after that woman and not let this rest
That was so wrong in many ways

thumb.gif thumb.gif WTG Taylor

msoulz replied: I BOW TO YOU for the way you handled this. Keeping your cool is so important and you ROCK for doing so despite not wanting to!!!! thumb.gif

Her board-certified behind should be in the unemployment line IMHO!

Calimama replied: Seriously I would be steamed too!! mad.gif

WTG for saying something!!!

My2Beauties replied: growl.gif growl.gif I would be fuming! LIVID!

MommyToAshley replied: Oh man, how aweful! I am glad you spoke up, but kept your cool. I hope that "teacher" is dismissed... she has no business working with kids. I'm sorry Taylor had to go through that, but congrats to her for winning a 1st place ribbon! thumb.gif
