The West Virginia minors
MomToJade&Jordan wrote: I would just like to say that my thoughts and prayers are with the families who lives will be forever changed because of this tragedy. My DH is from Buckhannon WV, which is where the explosion happened, and I am just in absolute shock at this point. I was so hoping that they would find those men alive.
PrairieMom replied: Did I miss something? what happend? Thats the problem with Noggin and Disney. They have terrible news coverage.
MomToJade&Jordan replied: There was a mining explosion. !3 men were trapped about 260 feet under the surface. There is only one survivor.
PrairieMom replied: eew. Thats horrible. Those poor families.
ammommy replied: Wait a minute...my paper says just the opposite. 12 survivers, 1 dead. Is that wrong???
ediep replied: yes, its wrong ,Lisa There was a miscommunication and there was only 1 survivor. Just saw the story on Good Morning America
ammommy replied: Gotta love our paper. That's so sad. Prayers are with those families.
3_call_me_mama replied: Prayers and thoughts going out to them !
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Such a sad story. My thoughts and prayers to all those families!
coasterqueen replied: Same here.
coasterqueen replied: How horrible . My prayers are with the families.
Mis replied: You'd think there would be a better way to do that job seeing as it is the year 2006.
THose poor famlies.
MommyToAshley replied: It was so sad... even the families were told that there were 12 survivors. They were celebrating and cheering. They didn't find out until 3 hours later that it was a miscommunication.
My thoughts and prayers are also with those families.
MamaJAM replied: My heart definately goes out to the families. My grandfather and most of the men on my father's side were coal miners -- I really hate when things like this happen.
My2Beauties replied: Oh gosh. I hadn't heard yet about any deaths, last I saw on our news they were still trying to find them! That is so awful. My heart goes out to those families at this time. I am so sad for them.
C&K*s Mommie replied: I went to bed, so happy last night that at least 12 families were going to have loved ones come home. I was still sad about the 1 death. Then this morning, I saw the headlines..... That is so terrible, the emotional roller coaster these families have involuntarily been put on.
's for every one of them!!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: i'd feel like the biggest butt if that was my miscommunication.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: My heart breaks for the families of those men! My prayers and my thanks go out to them! It is amazing that we still have men that mine(and many other jobs) just like 100's of years ago! It makes me stop and think how much HARD work goes into the things I take for granted! I am so sorry for those families!
edited I hit the wrong smilie-sorry!
MomToJade&Jordan replied: I'm talking to my MIL on MSN right now. It turns out that my FIL knew at least 2 of the minors. It's a small community and my FIL was a phone man for many years out there. So sad.
