The Rainy Season has started - with a vengence in Hawai....

MomToJade&Jordan wrote: You guys should see sll of the rain we are getting out here. It started to pour at about 3 pm last afternoon and lasted for at least 3 hours. I thought maybe it was over last night because there were stars, but I guess I was wrong. I was going to take a walk up to the store with Jade today so I can get Shrek 2, but I guess I am going to have to wait. The sad part is this one is going to leave just in time for another system to sweep through. I guess I am going to have to get used to it because this is only the beginning.

jdkjd replied: How long does the rainy season last?? At least you can't get four hurricanes like in FL... tongue.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Oh poooor you....it's raining in paradise tongue.gif rolling_smile.gif

I'm totally kidding! That stinks. I hate rainy days with toddlers. There is only so much you can do.

I used to love watching the rain make waterfalls and pour down the mountains.

MomToJade&Jordan replied:
The season lasts pretty much until Spring. We can get hurricanes out here, but no you are right FL didn't fair to well this year.

coasterqueen replied: Yuck!! I hate rain. It's been raining here so much lately I thought I was going to float away on the way to work. Glad it's finally sunny here today. rolleyes.gif

Hope your rainy season doesn't last long. sun.gif

jdkjd replied: Well, you are in Hawaii. So since I'm completely jealous of you, I can now say I might have better weather.

But then you are still in Hawaii... tongue.gif

MomToJade&Jordan replied: ROFL!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I am in Hawaii, and most of the time we do have great weather. The best part about this time of year is the waves are up on the North Shore. I think last year at one point we had like 30 ft swells. They had evacuate that area because it really is right on the beach. I am waiting for a good swell so I can drive up there and watch. There will be pictures when that day comes.

jdkjd replied:
Um. yeah. That is totally cool. As opposed to anything in my daily life. I think I'm about ten years passed experiencing anything remotely cool.

And yes, I watched the movie North Shore about a 100 times in my teens. Haoli. (sp?)

MomToJade&Jordan replied: LOL!!!!! Jenn you crack me up!

You know I think that is the correct spelling.

Oh look it's starting to pour again. There's a small pond beginning to form in my backyard. Maybe I won't have to mow my half of the courtyard this week. A girl can dream.

Kirstenmumof3 replied: ohmy.gif OH NO! I hope that it doesn't last too long and that you will be able to get out and enjoy yourselves outdoors again!

kimberley replied: ugh! RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY!!! hope that works happy.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh how I would love to be there to see it! biggrin.gif I actually love rain if I am going to be in my house cleaning or cooking all day. Other than that, blech! I don't like getting out in it at all! tongue.gif

Everytime it rains DH wants chili and then he wants to curl up on the couch and snuggle with me. Sounds sweet, but he wants to watch reruns of Bonanza blink.gif or something silly like that. And even if it is in the summer he mentions lighting the fireplace. rolleyes.gif We need to be in Montana, really. (Home on the range where the buffalo roam) YeeHaw!

Okay that is probably more info than you wanted! emlaugh.gif

Josie83 replied: Oh I'm sorry that it stops you doing what you want to do! I hope that it gets a bit better for you xx

mama3x replied: Rainy season varies - it depends on what island you live on and where on that particular island. We live near the airport so we don't get too much storminess here compared to Kaua`i and the windward side of our island. But the university has gotten over $5 million worth of damage and people living in that area have really been flooded out.

It's the humidity that can kill you though... sad.gif ...100 percent *augh*

It's spelled "haole" by the way, if you're referring to non-Hawaiian/foreigner/Caucasian. "Hauoli" means happy. biggrin.gif
